I'm from the US but I've been here twice now. This is the best place to eat in Bridgnorth. 1st time I was here I had the Ham salad, which doesn't sound fancy, but it shocked me. Best salad I've ever had and I've thought about it so much that I had to come back on my second trip out to the UK. This time my husband got his own salad and absolutely loved it, which is impressive for a man who doesn't like his greens. The Spanish ham and dressing are absolute showstoppers. I would also recommend the raspberry sangria...it was dangerously delicious. If you have room, go for the churros as well! Priced far too fairly for such high quality food. Just as a note - if you get the nachos, be prepared to share as they are huge!

The BEST Tapas and service in Shropshire!! Where to begin.. As soon as we arrived we were shown to our table by such friendly staff, they couldn’t do enough for us and made our dining experience one to remember! The food was delicious, full of flavour, great portion sizes with such a varied menu to choose from. We have eyes bigger than our bellies so tried ALOT of different dishes. The panko prawns and goats cheese salad were a firm favourite. We haven’t found food or service this amazing in such a long time, will definitely be spreading the word to friends and already cannot wait to return 🤩

This is a difficult review to write because the food was incredible. Their tapas is easily the best that I have had outside of Spain. However, this is 2025 and excuses like, ‘we’re short staffed’ might have cut the mustard back in 2022. However, three staff for Easter Saturday evening? Really? We ordered bread, the waiter made a bee-line for our table. However, he gave our bread to the group of six on the next table but charged us for it. What a pity.

Incredible staff, food, service, everything - just truly incredible. The most perfect caterer you could ever ask for.

My husband and I absolutely adore The Fat Olive and go there at least once a month for a delicious meal. Sam and Rose never fail to provide perfect food, ambience, service etc so it is no surprise we chose them to be our wedding caterers.

Despite our venue being a fair distant from Bridgnorth (The Wyre Forest), Sam and Rose went above and beyond to investigate what would be needed for our special day. They had regular check-ins and meetings with us to make sure we were happy with the menu and were happy to cater for our needs/our guest dietary requirements.

On the actual day of our wedding they were there super early to set up and were so organised/prepared. They organised canapés on arrival for guests which were a mix of different brushetta and then we had a buffet-style tapas for our mains. Every single guest raved about the food - particularly the stew and chorizo - it was just absolutely perfect.

They cleared everything for us from the tables and packed away with no fuss whatsoever. They lovingly laid out the evening nibbles for us before their departure and it was amazing! more brushetta, crackers, olives, dips etc. Lots of guests were taking so goody bags of food!

We truly cannot recommend The Fat Olive enough. Whether for a meal out or a special event, they are truly out of this world. I'm already thinking of booking our next meal as I type this!

Pictures will follow as soon as I have them from our photographer!

Thank you so so so much Sam, Rose and team.

You're never allowed to retire unless there is a cook book written!

On our way from Buckinghamshire to North Wales we stopped off in the quaint old town of Bridgenorth in search of a lunch venue. From looking at the reviews of local restaurants we came across 5 star reviews at The Fat Olive Tapas and on arriving at the door which said closed the proprietor and chef happened to arrive at the same time and welcomed us on to this first floor eaterie. The venue oozes the rustic character of an old Spanish Tapas and it felt like we were in Spain. Cara the waitress was most welcoming and our group of 5 adults being the only diners experienced an excellent service. Were the 5 star reviews deserved? Absolutely! The beer was very cold and went down a treat. Our dishes included the gambas al pil pil, calamares, pollo al ajillo and the patatas bravas with and without cheese. All the dishes were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Oh and remember to order the bread too, superb with the allioli. All in all worthy of another 5...

Im not usually one to complain and I love the fat olive, its one of my top picks when eating out in Bridgnorth. However I went to collect 2 Big Beast takeaway boxes last night and was really unimpressed. On arrival, I was told there had been a "bit of a mix up", but wasnt told exactly what had happened. A lady came out the kitchen on two separate occasions with a takeaway bag which she went outside with and then came back from with a takeaway order in a box, which she then handed to me. So i dont know what had happened but it seemed my order was being passed around. The staff were very kind and offered me a drink while I waited. But I got home and you could tell the order had been sat for a while, the oils had all leaked out, soggy packaging and I had to reheat it all. As I said not usually one to complain but really wasn't up to the usual standards or...
