Myself and 3 girlfriends made a reservation here for Friday 29th November, We all live in different parts of the UK so had all travelled over 3 hours to meet in this central location. Our reservation was booked for 2:30pm, however due to traffic we were each running around 10 minutes late. We phoned the restaurant out of curtsey to explain and they said they had to cancel our table due to the kitchen staff closing at 3pm to replenish ready for the evening without any offer of anything else and that was the decision the table had gone. I phoned them back and spoke to a lady named Steph, who was not friendly, or polite in relaying the message directly to me. As you can imagine this was really upsetting as we had travelled so far and after such a long time (covid) we couldn't go out for lunch. It's so common people are often 5/10 minutes late for a restaurant so I really don't think you should advertise a table at 2:30 if the kitchen closes at 3pm. We weren't even offered to order the food over the phone so at least we could have made our meal. I explained that it was really poor service, it really upset us and Steph's tone over the phone was just uncalled for... none of us were rude or disrespectful to her. When I explained I would leave a review because of such poor customer service, I was phoned back and told the kitchen would stay open for another 10 minutes, but at this point we had all driven to the local Sainsbury's and to be quite honest would have felt so uncomfortable turning up after the way Steph spoke to us, not to mention how fresh the food could have been if thats how quick it's made? I have obviously thought about this for a few days wether or not to leave a review, but honestly I have never had this service from a pub/restaurant before and it really impacted our day plans that we had been looking forward to for 2 year. I asked Steph to speak to the owner in which i was told " You can speak to me for now". Being a shareholder of my own business I thought it's only fair that the owners see this review and understand the service their customers are getting, because I know I would be...

Fantastic food, it is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for - great portions sizes and fantastic tasting food, and it sounds silly saying this, but everything was served hot, not just warm - hot. We visited on Saturday night and was found a table even though we didn't book. We had scallops and nibbles (bread/olives/oil/balsamic) to start, the scallops were cooked really well and the butternut squash puree was silky smooth. My only slight criticism was that the ciabatta on the nibbles was a little too salty for my taste. We then had a pork belly salad and a rib eye steak to follow. The salad was really tasty, great crackling on the belly pork and no chewy fat to be seen, cooked perfectly, lovely crisp apple and delicious dressing, I ate every bit. My husband loved his steak, cooked to perfection, melt in the mouth with some delicious chips that were nice and crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside and nicely seasoned. First time in a very long time we've paid a fair amount of money for a meal out and not been unhappy paying the price as the meal was worth every penny. If we ever come back to visit Cheddar again, we will definitely be re-visiting this gem. Amazing food - a definite must visit! The only downside is that we were so full from our starter and main that we didn't have space to even look at the dessert menu, let...

EDIT
i did not personally verbally abuse anyone as i have a speech impairment and use a communication aid. A quick search can find videos of me on other platforms using a communicator, if proof is needed. Your CCTV obviously didn't see myself, the walking frame user being steadied up and down the ramp so I didn't fall as was the wheelchair user so his wheelchair didn't tip up. True accessibility would be my family of 3, a walking frame user, an electric wheelchair user and a little boy going out for a meal unaided, entering and exiting the property without help. Unfortunately, we were unable to do this at your premises. Half of the party was only supposed to be coming in for drinks but my partner and I were worried about exiting the property safely that we asked them to stay so they could assist us after we had eaten. We were told that the table next to us was reserved and would be needed soon, even though there were plenty of other empty tables at the time which is why we left...
