Amended due to response from George Tapps. Couldn't order food (during half time of the footmall match) via app as wouldn't add discount, went to bar queued for 30 mins to be told stopped doing food as too busy, I explained my family had ordered food and would like to eat with them, still wouldn't except my food order. The other members of my family managed to order via the app but no drinks were discounted, they went to the bar to query it and were told the discount only applies when placing the food order at the bar. No communication given to customers regarding the kitchen being closed throughout the 30 minutes queuing at the bar, I did not see anyone who resembled a manager monitoring the situation and informing people in the queue that the kitchen had closed. Ordered cocktails 2 4 1 offer (long island) waited 20 mins so went to the bar and bar man was doing my cocktail, I noticed him making them in little plastic cups, I asked him if they were my cocktails, he said they were, I asked for them to be served in cocktail glasses, he said he wasn't allowed, he gave me an extra cup of coke as I said that the drinks were to strong as only enough room for half an inch of coke. Absolutely shocking, in response to your comment that we had more than you would normally serve is no excuse to pass them off as cocktails, please see the photo of the two long island ice tea, you must be so proud of your product offering, I was tottaly embarrassed as I was buying them for the bride & grrom. Your advertising photos of cocktails are misleading. it just after 8pm on Sunday evening, we were a family of 9 adults with 6 children. No toilet paper in any of the ladies toilets had to ask staff. I did not see these toilets monitored hourly as stated in the response, I have been informed from other male members of our family that, two of the men's three toilets had no toilet paper, urine over the toilet seats and on the floor, throughout the 4 hours + duration that we were, he was not able to take his child to the toilet because of this. Not monitored hourly as manager had mentioned in the response. We had to clear our own tables, these were not cleared for the duration we were there. Read moreCame here to have a good time, ordered a pink martini and this is what i got. I spoke with the “bar manager” and she poured my drink in a 125ml measurer. The measurer was 50% and explained to her that i want 125ml of liquid. After the conversation she told me she will give me a refund and kick me out of the venue. I dont understand, i paid 10£ for a cocktail expect an actual cocktail. When asked about taking a photo of the glasses the “bar manager” took my glasses and put them behind the bar saying “they are gone now”. This is very upsetting especially that i wanted to take a photo and she was basically denying it! Avoid this place they scam you on the cocktails!! Please look at how my cocktail looks when poured in a martini glass. The “bar manager” told me if i want to leave a bad review im gonne get kicked out and that the foam is part of the 125ml of cocktail.
An edit to the reply given by the business: There was 4 other people with me which have seen the interaction between me and the “bar manager”, i believe that your use of word “confrontational” is not appropriate especially that we did not raise our voices, we did not make any physical contact with the bar staff and we were actually very polite.
When you say “you were offered a refund” yes i was offered a refund and told that after my refund was done i would be kicked out by the “bar manager”. I did not take the refund since we did not want to get kicked out for telling the bar staff that i was not happy with the product received. When talking to the manager (in the blue shirt) he kept interrupting me when trying to explain that i was not happy with my drink and told me i was abusing the staff when i did not do such a thing!
It is clear to me and to the other people with me that management is in denial when a customer expresses their problem with the product received and likes to throw out the “you were abusive to the staff” card. That is a very serious accusation you are placing on us and my friends which we know its not true!
Since i did not add this to the original review, i would like to tell ALL STUDENTS TO AVOID THIS PLACE. When i wanted to place an order of 2 pints which should have come to £5 (£2.5 each) bar staff charged us £10 for them and told us: “we should have told them that we are students before we started to order” and that “we cant use it now”.

Read moreI visited George Tapps in Bournemouth for a birthday celebration on February 27th, 2024. Despite my initial excitement about exploring a new place, the experience turned out to be dehumanizing. The staff, while nice, appeared to be short-staffed, struggling to manage the workload. Unfortunately, the Supervisor or Manager's behaviour was the most disappointing aspect. She was unnecessarily rude, alleging that we were rude to the staff, which was untrue. Our request for assistance, like clearing a table, seemed to be met with hostility. It's disheartening to think that this treatment might be influenced by racial bias. This negative encounter significantly impacted the birthday celebration for my friend and I. In light of this experience, we decided to relocate to a different venue to salvage the celebration. I won't forget this incident easily, and I have no intentions of returning to George Tapps. The combination of staff shortages and unprofessional management left a lasting impression, and I cannot recommend this establishment to my friends. Additionally, I sincerely hope that the management of George Tapps takes note of feedback and reviews like this one. Establishments must address shortcomings and make necessary adjustments. Small mistakes and instances of unprofessional behaviour, as experienced during my visit, have the potential to significantly impact a customer's perception and overall enjoyment.
