A pub that truly embodies the very definition of the Scandi 'hygge' construct - if a riverside location, warm welcomes, outstanding service, open fires and a cosy aesthetic are your thing, then you should make The Half Moon a regular haunt.
Landlord Tom's warm and friendly demeanor belie sharp and consistent attention to detail that should be the envy of all pub landlords. From behind the bar or at your table, expect to be welcomed with unapologeticly friendly service by everyone at The Half Moon, all of whom appear to be fully invested in this lovely pub's ethos.
Thankfully they don't serve the Danish lager infamous for it's 'probably' themed strap line, however The Half Moon has to be an Oasis for lovers of a genuine and well kept freehouse. Much more Definitely than Maybe the best pub I have had the pleasure to frequent.

Yet, although I only came for a pint or two, I wasn't made to feel pressured into food, nor shamed for taking up a table. (the food looked great by the way). Extremely friendly and personable service, great drink selection, and outstanding cheese and meat boards (which are honestly an amazing value for the price—we couldn’t believe the quality/quantity).
