Arrived just after opening as a walk in 5:35. Drink order taken quickly but quite a wait for food order. Ordered sea bass of the day and sea bass with gnocchi. Waited nearly 30 minutes. Food arrived I said I was gnocchi and plate handed to me. It was on fact salmon w ith crushed potatoes. Order was correct but kitchen got it wrong. There had been a big order of nearly 20 with ours. They apologised offered to make new dish or I could keep salmon. Due to wait time, I opted to keep it. They offered complimentary drinks, we'd only had two half pints so not much discount. The salmon and sauce was tasty but the crushed potatoes were Luke warm, couldn't be bothered to say anything just wanted to finish and go. The bass was great. Dog friendly although just before we finished a little dog came in barking at ours who had Lau beneath our feet for more than an hour. Price £45 for both mains

Excellent food and service. Dinner here on Saturday evening was excellent. The service was first rate, helpful and attentive. Menu was limited but the food was delicious and creative. We had a sharing starter with four different starters and we couldn't decide which we liked the most! Then we went for some fish, with a salmon fillet in the middle of two crispy fish cakes on a bed of salad veg. Dinner was rounded off with a brownie with homemade popcorn idecream and a bakewell cheescake.

What a slice of heaven in Boscastle. Sure, you can go to the expensive place nearby but you will get half the meal and none of the atmosphere or the service. The meal we had here was the best meal we have ever had in the U.K. and this is including 5 separate trips and expensive London locations. The service was friendly and efficient. The place was just perfect! Don't look any further. Go here and eat!

Nice location near to the harbour, very clean and nice surroundings. When we arrived as a walk-in, we were told that there were no tables available even though the restaurant had just opened. Eventually we were offered a table in the bar, we were very grateful. However, whilst we were waiting for our food two more coupled arrived as walk-in's and they had the same conversation and they were "squeezed" in? So it appears that booking is necessary. Food was ok, a bit expensive for what it was, I had a Venison burger at £17 which was cooked medium rare, I wasn't asked if I had a preference. My wife had fishcakes as a main, which she enjoyed. Staff where pleasant. 3 stars because of the undercooked burger and made to feel we were being squeezed in, when it appeared not to...

Absolutely nothing wrong with the staff, nice and polite. Menu looked beautiful however, I had the Hake unfortunately it was like frozen mush, no flavour with the consistency of a warm sorbet. Mind blown. The sauce had zero flavour, Luke warm and stone cold in places. The vegetables it was served with are really not worth mentioning. My wife had the paella, still laughing at how poor it was. Loads of mussels, well, shells actually. The chicken was rock hard over cooked probably a month ago, and that's being kind. It's saving grace was the chorizo and that's because it was the only thing that had any flavour, rock hard though. Possibly the worst food we have ever eaten. Avoid! The pot noodle from the shop just down the road was...
