I love Hall and Woodhouse. Fantastic beers, if you get the chance I'd suggest visiting their brewery in Blandford. Also a good menu with a friendly service. There is a great rear garden and a comfortable dining area. Update, I am not sure what has happened here but the standards have dropped big time. The menu is now very restricted, only 4 options of sandwiches (tuna mayo, ham and cheese, cheese and tomato chutney and the beef and horseradish was out). We asked if it was possible to do baguettes (Hall and Woodhouse usually offers the baguette or sliced bread options, they also used to come with a side salad and crisps with an upgrade to chips option) and was told yes. Finally after waiting 35 mins the food came out. The order was originally for 1 tuna and mayo baguette and 2 cheese and tomato chutney baguettes, all to come with crisps as there was no upgrade option. Instead we got all as sandwiches, the crisps magically turned into doritos, and the tomato chutney had magically turned back into tomatoes. For £7 each, definitely was not worth it. We did get a partial refund but ultimately, a very...
Read moreBirds. Literally. Everywhere. Ever seen a Chinese orgy? How naive I was when I came in the front door and I heard a faint chorus of quarwks from the back garden. Colour me surprised when I found it wasn’t a football game I was hearing. Lucky I had my pocket crumbs, I’ll tell you that for £3.99.
Tables, round, square, hexagon. They truly have it all here. Personally I like my tables with a bit of edge. I’m a hexagon man through and through. The drinks are cool and refreshing. Like a bite of a lemon on a frosty morn. I come for the tables but I stay for the drinks. Inspirational.
The drinks were unpleasant. Too cold. I asked the woman behind the bar to warm up my beer in the microwave, but then it was too hot! Outrageous. Only come to this pub if you like cold beer.
The menu is looking delicious.. mm tasty! With my food in my belly I sip my triple pink gin with a cheeky shot to the side. The fair lights twinkling as the birds flutter by - blissful. It’s got that special...

The lounge/resteraunt are warm and inviting, with a tasty menu. The garden is beautiful, although we did not get to enjoy it too much because we stayed there in winter. Wood burning pot-belly stoves made the lounge a lovely retreat from the bitter cold outside. The rooms were luxurious and comfortable. Service was impeccable. Located around the corner from Salisbury Cathedral, within blocks of Salisbury's shops. My only note is that some rooms are located above the pub, so if you are a light sleeper and like to go to bed super early you might ask for a quieter room. However, my room was directly over the pub and it did not bother me at all. I am very picky, and I was absolutely delighted. Say hello to "Poppy", the...
