The New Union — Restaurant in England

Fantastic range of traditional ciders on a menu, the cask ale on the pumps was a good choice of four different styles. Lots of space on around 20 standard size picnic tables at the side under marquees, didn't try the food but it looked like modern street style (I think spicy chicken wings and vegan burger was on the Saturday menu). The men's toilets could do with some thought or refurb - something to bare in mind if you are sensitive about that sort of thing, apparently the ladies is small but fine. Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant..what a pub . What great stock of whisky from the lakes to India to Japanese. Probably the best stock of The Lakes Whisky available in the UK even some very rare drams including Whisky Makers Reserve 2-4 malts and the very very rare Le-Gautier which was only available at Harvey Nicols and would set you back £350+ a bottle if you can find one . The New Union.. Me and my friends call it the new Onion, after tastin their beer.!! Quite revolti ng compared to the barrel,which is obviously freshly brewed.! The owner, would not take the view we had on his out of date tasting beer, he angrily insisted it was best in town.. However, we had not experienced the quality he protested and left after one sour tasting pint. We went to tesco for some beer instead. Id give it as wide birth and enjoy some of the finer micro...
