We recently celebrated our daughter’s birthday at Bangkok 7 Thai Restaurant , and what an absolute treat it was — a perfect blend of flavour, flair, and a touch of golden fabulousness.
Let’s start with the food. Every single dish we ordered was crafted with such precision and love that we seriously contemplated giving the chefs a standing ovation. I went for the classic Thai red curry with rice — creamy, spicy, and comforting in all the right ways. My daughter chose the egg noodles, which disappeared faster than you can say “Pad Thai,” and my wife indulged in the seafood fried rice, which arrived looking like a postcard from Phuket and tasted just as good. We also ordered the Local Spicy Street Platter, and oh boy, it was a firecracker of flavour. A party on the palate — and yes, we RSVP’d for seconds.
Now, the ambience. Imagine walking into a golden palace in the heart of Bangkok — chandelier made of delicate golden flowers, shimmering Thai décor everywhere, and a vibe that screams luxury spa meets royal temple. Honestly, I’ve never seen a restaurant this beautifully decorated. It felt like dining in heaven — but with better lighting and way more chilli.
The staff? Absolutely lovely. Warm, friendly, and wonderfully accommodating, they made the entire evening feel special.
In short, Bangkok 7 isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. One we’re eager to repeat. Bravo...
Read moreDining on my own. I noticed this Thai restaurant pop up a year or so ago and decided to pay a visit.
The internet told me that the restaurant shut at 8.30. I arrived at 8.15 and it wasn't immediately apparent that they were busy. Thinking I'd get turned away the waiter was only too happy to seat me. 1st point. The restaurant is bigger than it look from. The outside! It has a dining room upstairs that it twice the size as downstairs. I was escorted to my plush seat.
Decor was fantastic. Immediately, despite being busy I was provided with a bottle of table water and the menu. Service was prompt from the ample quantity of staff. I ordered Chang beer. Calcium Boost (Thai fried whitebait with siracha dipping sauce) as a starter. And phase graphao (basil and garlic chicken stir fry) with sticky rice for main.
The flavours were amazing. A decent amount of spice (I like hot food and this was a 2 rated chilli dish - ample heat) and plenty of fresh hot ingredients.
The bill, just over £33 for 2 beers, a starter, main and rice. Although please note, optional 10% service charge is included on the bill. So in reality, the bill was around £30.
To summarise. Clean. Friendly. Attentive. Great food. Good atmosphere. Comfortable. Value. Selection. Nothing...
Read moreThis place is slap bang in the middle of Kendal, it looks quite small from the outside but step inside and you are transported quite literally to Thailand, the setting is quite stunning with Buddhist statues and gold and black all over the walls, floors and ceiling, it shines utter class, the food was exquisite, everything just delivered. We had the special set menu for 2 and I must make it clear you get a lot of food for this. So much its really challenging to finish but we managed, I tried some new things like squid which was my favourite and morgaeng for dessert. When this pudding hit my table I was a little underwhelmed but let me tell you when the first mouthful went down I was really surprised it was delicious, a little bit stodgy after eating all the other courses but it was an excellent way to finish a meal. The price for the amount of food we got was reasonable but I would suggest to maybe think about your choice beforehand as less to eat would have been nicer in our case but still everything tasted awesome and I am so glad we...
