The norland formerly known as the eight Bells before the 1982 Falklands conflict, Is a large spacious modern Estate type pub. There's a large front Lounge mainly for eating, with a nice separate back bar with plenty of TVs for watching sports and a dart board, no pool table. It's serves excellent reasonably priced pub food, and good range beer but sadly no cask conditioned real ale which is a real shame as it's such a popular pub. Friendly staff this is a real community pub. It has a large car park and outside seating. Dog friendly in the bar. Worth a visit.

Went in for a visit, was seated quickly by a member of staff. However, we were placed on the 'Adult only area' which was fine but has no TV so only got a small view of the football. Ordered food on the app and it took around 30 mins to arrive we ordered Hunters chicken and a Mediterranean chicken both tasted great! Drinks were fine and served quickly at the bar. Toilets are also very clean and modern.

Came here for a meal when staying the night in Hull it was very meh. The actual food was small and just okay, but pricing wasn't bad. The desserts were lovely though which brought it back up. Wouldn't go again though, to drink at was lovely and the place itself is.

This is not actually my local although it is not far away from me and we have been going to this place for a very long time. There was a period a few years ago when the meals were, to us anyway, awful, and we gave it a miss for quite a long time. Times have changed and my wife and I are not ones to have long evenings with groups of friends where you would be in 'rounds' all night long. These days our pub visits, doesn't matter which one, usually involves a meal and a more laid back experience. And so it was today, me, my wife, my teenage granddaughter, our near 5 year old grandson and our near 2 year old second granddaughter. There is a menu where you have a limited choice of meals, both kids and adults, but you can feed a family of 4 for £10.

This is an excellent deal so my wife and I, plus the 2 younger granchildren chose meals from this menu and my elder granddaughter something off the main menu. The place was not too busy so service was excellent, the food matched the service, an excellent meal all round, the food was very tasty, plates were cleared of food. Our younger grandchildren had and ice cream pudding, but with that you got a chocolate sauce, chocolate chips and chocolate buttons and not forgetting the mini marshmellows, all for £1.29. Pub meals they may have been but they were excellent value and very filling, my grandchildren's clean plates can...

Usually a nice pub where you can go for a bite to eat with the kids or just a couple of drinks, however as of late it seems if you’re not a regular or your face doesn’t fit, the Manager has a habit of saying “are you eating?” & if the answer is “no”. Well it’s full & you can’t come in. This has also happened to a few other people I’ve spoken to, even the regulars in the Pub have said this is happening frequently, even to Adults who don’t have kids with them. As far as I’m aware you don’t need to book a table to enter a “Public House” or have to purchase a meal to be allowed entry, especially in the bar area where no food is served or am I missing something, is standing not allowed? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Seems to be a classic case of if your face doesn’t fit or not a regular or perhaps they just want your money if you’re buying food. Either way it’s a shame as it’s the only local pub in the area (unless you walk into Hessle Square) & this will only drive new...

I went there at 7:30pm a Saturday night and the place was almost empty. I was looking at the food menu and was told to order quick as the kitchen was closing at 8pm! I ordered the steak rare-medium, however it sadly arrived well done... I know that it's served on a hit skillet which means over time the steak will get cooked further, but the steak was the first thing I tasted and it was cooked well done... Hence, it tasted like a boot... I ordered the "dirty chips" for a side which were fine, but they had almost no cheddar cheese (maybe 4-5 chips had cheese on them)... Also, none came to ask if I enjoyed my meal or not. To be fair the meal is very reasonably priced, but the quality not worth it. The draft pint options are not that many, but still reasonably priced. The best features of this pub is the parking and the outside space. I'll maybe come back during the summer to sit outside a drink a beer, but I won't be coming back...
