Well, it's a Wetherspoons and I would think by now that everyone knows what to expect at one of these places. There was 3 of us and we got a table with no fuss. As you can expect there is hand sanitiser on the way in and staff were seen to clean each table when a customer left. The menus are paper throw away ones which is a good idea to help stop unessesary contact. I had a Burger and fries which was OK. Not the best burger I've ever has but not the worse. The onion rings were also really basic. There was quite a few things missing from the menu when trying to order which was slightly disappointing. Ordering is done with a Wetherspoons App which is really easy and service is pretty quick. The wife's first choice was one of the items unavailable so she decided on the Hawaiian Pizza. It was also pretty basic, nothing fancy about the dough and I think the base was a little undercooked. There was no crisp to it and it flopped over like a wet weekend. It was edible, just maybe not enjoyable. She left half of it. The third person in our party also ordered a Burger and that also was OK. For the price with a drink it isn't a bad deal, just be prepared not to be overwhelmed with excitement and be shocked if you get an amazing meal. 😀 We'll be back........

I go here most weeks as it is one of my absolute favourite places to relax and have a drink in Darwen. The staff are so nice and friendly, always smiling even when it is absolutely rammed and they're working their socks off. The atmosphere is brilliant, it has a wonderful buzz to it and a real mix of people just heading out for a night out or finishing off with a night cap. Plus, the building you are surrounded by is gorgeous with some lovely artwork that really complements the theme. Obviously it goes without saying that the prices are super cheap for both the food and drink as it is a Weatherspoons, but this certainly isn't reflected in the quality. The food is really well prepared and tasty and the drinks are made very well too, again a testament to how good the staff are at both the front and back of the house. I really can't recommend this place enough and if I'm out drinking in Darwen I will always make sure I come here for at least one. Can't wait till the next...

Staff can’t cope with how large the place is. We asked for a cloth so we could dry some seats off outside and was told to go out and someone would come over and do it for us, after waiting for about 5 minutes I went in again to ask for a cloth and told the bar staff that I had no problem wiping them myself, I just wanted a cloth to do it, again she assured me that someone would be over to do it for me and still wouldn’t give me a cloth. After waiting for about 10 minutes in total we eventually got to sit down. My husband and I both had burgers, they were okay, nothing special but okay for the price, we shared some halloumi fries which were really tasty. The problem we had was the next day, my husband and I were so ill with upset stomachs we are convinced it’s from the food we were served. We know that everything is frozen and pre-prepared and are wondering if something wasn’t heated properly. We’d go back for a drink but wouldn’t eat...

Visited while passing through Darwen. What an absolute stunning building! They have done a fantastic job and shows in this majestic building and its interior. It doesn't feel like an old chapel but has more of a library feel about it with its floor above, where the kitchen and further seating areas are situated. Also upstairs infront of the stunning stained glass windows, there is artwork and paintings on display which add character to this historic building. We never dined here so can't comment but the hot chocolate was a delight. Lots of open floor space with tables and also comfy couches. Parking is limited outside but there are a few just outside if you are lucky. Nice visit and would recommend.

We visited with family and whilst they had a meal i had to sit there with no food because they refused to redo a steak that was well done instead of rare because and i quote the "chef" (chunky fella, ginger beard) "i can't get it any rarer than that" its literally well done, a monkey could literally cook a rare steak. The waiter was lovely about it and refunded it but its actually appalling to be sat at a family meal and be the only one not eating. You need new kitchen staff, the tables were all sticky too which is a shame because its usually ok at breakfast time.

Another Wetherspoon, another unique carpet. I would give it 6 stars if I could for the simple reason that the ladies toilets are on the ground floor! Men's are still upstairs though. This Spoons is an old church, and has some stained glass windows, and strangely enough an art gallery of posters! Great upstairs area to sit too. There's a massive bird statue just across the road which is pretty cool.
