Worst place around looe. Terribly rude manager and till operator. No hand gel for customer use and when questioned on it the manager was exceptionally rude, the manager just replied "dont you carry your own" and proceeded to SHOUT (yes shout at a customer) "do you realise how much is stolen around here (like thats my problem), we've operated since lockdown without it and have managed" in an aggressive manor.. do not visit the place could do with a clean, as you would expect from a cafe that doesnt even care enough about its customers to offer hand gel in a time that the country is in a national pandemic.. if your worried in corona time do not visit as they do not clean tables between customers like so many other places do. Went back in to get sugar and the manager verbally attacked me saying im making a big deal over nothing. As if corona virsus has all been made up and me asking for hand gel was a massive deal.. cannot warn other customers enough not to pay custom to this cafe, their are so many other places more deserving of your money in the area.. Their coffee wasnt bad, I just dont think its worth risking your life for and getting a mouthful of attitude for the sake of a coffee.. ps spoke to another coffee shop owner just down the road who had hand gel right at the front of his little shop and was warm and welcoming and wasn't surprised at all from their actions.. he said they are notorious for their behaviour. which lead to the need to review this awful place to...
Read moreThere are no toilets. How they get away with this is beyond me: I am pretty sure that any cafe in the UK with seating for 10+ has to provide them? Instead, you must use the public toilets 50 yards away at a cost of 30p. This was not stated anywhere before ordering and paying for my food. We asked, they said you have to use the public ones. When we said this didn't seem fair, and asked where they went, they said it's not but they have to use them too so it is what it is. They said it all apologetically, but still.
I suppose the real penalty to the business is that my partner and I won't return, and the table of strangers in front us were overheard saying they can't believe it either, and won't return. Pretty sure you won't find a local here so they are alienating themselves.
Which is a shame, because the food was amazing and the staff were friendly. Just a shame their business model is ripping off tourists who don't know any better, rather than providing a happy environment and making the customer (and staff, if you can believe their claim of no toilet) comfortable. I'm sure there is some confused and misunderstood reason for the no toilets but nethertheless, there are none and there was no attempt to warn us of this, yet they were all too happy to take our money. Go somewhere that cares more for their customers. They could, at the very least, offer 30p off of the bill as an...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with this place! Went there and ordered a tea and can of fizz, was half way through our drinks only to be rudely and aggressively asked to move because they wanted the table for people waiting to order food. Both my friend and I informed them that we were nearly finished and will need five more minutes and then we will be leaving.
The same waitress came over after 1 minute and told us we have to move now to another table. I said no, I paid for my drinks via their premises and I was nearly finished and will vacate once finished. Then another waitress came over and said if we don’t move she will have to call the owner of the business over to move us (which I said please do).
The boss never showed up to speak to us. Maybe if they spoke to us (a paying customer) in a better manner, we would of happily of moved but the wait both waitress spoke to us was disgusting. I will never go back there and will tell everyone I know to avoid them at all costs.
Not only that, for a mint tea and a can of Tango cost over £5, not...
