Food was basic. However the wait time was a joke. We were not informed of a wait time on food and we were the only people in the restaurant so had no reason to think there would be a wait.We waited 45 mins plus for our starters which were nachos, squid and garlic mushrooms. We then waited another half an hour before going to the bar to ask where our main courses were. The girl at the bar said there was a backlog in the kitchen ,again we didn't understand how as there were only another couple of tables of two seated and waiting for food. After 35mins for our mains they finally arrived nothing special. The young waiter brought the chicken souvalaki over first and said " I've got a, I don't know this" and gestured towards it. An older man brought the remaining meals and said sorry for the wait but it was down to all the Just Eat orders they had on. And said he would discount the starters (3 for £10) and a couple of drinks as a gesture. Happy that some good will gestures were given by them but will certainly not be rushing back or recommending for many reasons 1: Wait time without any warning especially when there are two young children in our group. 2: Nachos were just a few crisps in a bowl with what looked like and tasted like they had a couple of melted cheese slices on top. 3: Squid looked more like breaded mushrooms and tasted of nothing. 4: Garlic mushrooms were a few thinly sliced large mushrooms on ciabatta bread with a cream sauce no taste of garlic whatsoever. 5: We had 3 starters between 5 of us and were not offered any side plates so had to ask. Chicken in the souvalaki was so dry and overcooked. The portion size was completely off too, half a plate of soggy fries and four wedges of very thick pitta bread with 4 tiny skewers of dried up chicken and a bowl of salad with dried oregano on which completely overpowered the taste of the salad. And the tzatzki tasted exactly the same as the garlic mayo which someone off our table had ordered ( cheap mayo no garlic!) 7: Kids meals were fine although the burger and fries was the same size as an adults portion so far too much. 8: The buffalo burger we ordered should of been spicy instead tasted rather plain and no sign of any jalapeños even though they were listed as one of the toppings. 9: Mince and dumplings fairly standard although the carrots were definitely not al dente more raw. 10: No asking of how the food was which we were all shocked by especially after the wait time and how much was left on some of our plates. And no offer of dessert menu etc.

It's a shame we had a negative experience considering it's our local and the good reviews we have seen about this place. Maybe new staff working I don't know but definitely won't...

Tried to order food before 8pm and got told the kitchen was wrapping up, so couldn't take any more orders - fine and reasonable. Brought a takeaway in to eat, only as they weren't serving food anymore. Wasn't making a mess or using their cutlery, and others in the pub were also eating food they brought in (crisps, meal deals) so didn't see why it would be an issue. Never had issues with bringing takeaways into pubs before when they're not serving food, and Google literally says "outside food allowed" when you search this place! Got told I couldn't eat it, so put it away in my bag. Had a few chips from out of my bag (my bad, I know, but hardly a crime) and the bartender came up to me and very bluntly told me they saw me on the camera and that if they caught me eating again, they'd kick me out. I get it, but it wasn't polite at all and it wasn't explained to me why it was even an issue. Felt really disproportionate to what I was doing, and a rude way of approaching me when I would've happily understood and stopped without the threat or the attitude. The bartender scowled at me all night even though I'd stopped. What's happened to this country? Didn't order any more drinks after that. It's a shame there aren't more pubs about these days. Nice...

The accommodation seems to be student accommodation from what I can gather, the room is grim, the carpet is soiled and the sink is inside the bedroom.

There is a makeshift pole on the wall to be used as a wardrobe.

I asked for an iron and ironing board and was told they are in the shared kitchen facility and must not be removed to my room.

I'm 55 year old that doesn't want to live like a student.

I will be expected to give the best of me to the learners this week. Staying in sub par accommodation will most definitely have a knock on effect to the delivery of the course as it's already put me into a negative state of mind.

I have just driven 3.5 hours to get here and simply wanted to unwind to prepare for the course tomorrow. There will be no unwinding done tonight.

I am only sorry that the pictures attached don't come with the scent of the room attached. It smells musty.

If it wasn't for the fact that I would be billed for the cost of the course I would simply turn around and drive back home.

To say I am not pleased with the level of accommodation would be a massive understatement.

Almost forgot, there was an outstanding amount of £0.01p on the room which I paid. I'm my humble opinion I was...

The place is probably what you pay for. There is no food on site despite what is on all the Internet searches. On day one upon check in I raised a few issues with the receptionist, who is a lovely person and perhaps restricted in what she can do. I brought down cups that were left and stacked dirty, which she replaced. I then saw that the mattress was all stained. I am a reasonable person so I said if I had a mattress protector I would put it on myself. She didn't have one or any alternative accommodation but said she would put an extra sheet on it. She came up and saw and I flipped the mattress over and helped dress the bed. The walls are dirty and the carpet needs a deep clean. There is noone to ask or noone that I have seen so I hope it is hoovered when I am out. I will mention that the heating seems to be on a strange timer schedule, where it turns on during the day and switches off at night so it was really cold during the night. There is a sainsbury up the road and a bus stop so that was handy. I probably would not stay here again only because I am very particular however I will say the ensuite bathroom was very clean and updated. I would put a blind on main window as light came in too easily.

I'm currently staying for a evening as I have work in the local area. Warmly greeted and shown to my room. Room is splendid, towels and shampoos etc left and most importantly, to me, clean as a whistle! Just had some food, a southern fried halloumi burger and salt and pepper chips to be precise, I must say that it was one hundred percent the best pub burger I have had EVER (and I've been in a plethora of them!). Drinks are reasonably priced and taste excellent. Currently awaiting sticky toffee pudding. 💯 reccomend for anyone, whether it be a pint, a meal or a overnight stay! If I could give it ten stars I would.
