The Red Lion Pub Parkgate — Restaurant in England

The Red Lion Parkgate Today was our wedding anniversary day and we celebrated in a quiet way, not having to been out for quite a while due to lots of different factors, we decided to go to Parkgate initially the ship inn. Following all the extensive visible improvements, but this turned out to be a disaster not a criticism but it did not measure up to expectations, we just had a drink and moved on. The Red Lion was our next choice, well this turned out to be a roaring success, The easy welcome from the staff a delightful selection of light bites menu and a very welcoming service from Hanna the waitress. Wonderful banter and brilliant advice supplied a beautiful light bite meal that surpassed every expectation, Hanna must be the epitome of friendly welcoming service with a delightful smile and super helpful advise and service that made for a most enjoyable little foray into dining out at lunchtime in the locality. The red lion now enlarged and extended in a most pleasing way must be one of the premier locations in Parkgate and the Wirral as a whole for a great value for money venues. Don't just take my word for it but do try it for yourself and form your own opinion. Thank you Hanna for making our day such a sweet memorable occasion....

We went here for lunch, today. I've walked past this pub many times but I've never been in but on the recommendation of my mum we booked a table. I'm so glad we did as this is one of the nicest pubs I've ever been to. The actual pub itself is a quaint, beautifully decorated building. We sat in the window and I think we had the best table as the view at Parkgate is so interesting. The food choices were excellent; plenty for me as a vegetarian, and everybody in our party was happy, even the extremely fussy 12 year old. I ordered from the light plates tapas menu and everything I ate was delicious. Especially the cauliflower wings. My son had not one, but 2 portions of the BBQ ribs and he said they were the best. The staff were so friendly and helpful and were happy to ensure that anything resembling a vegetable was not added the fussy 12 year old's food. First class service! I can't believe we haven't been here before but we will definitely be...

Even though I have been for a few nights out in Parkgate during the last few years, I've only just gone in to The Red Lion! I wasn't sure what to expect but oh wow...I was pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful evening. It is warm, welcoming and friendly from the start. There is a cosy open log fire, a vast array of drinks to choose from, good wines, great non-alcoholic beer selection and comfy seats. We were a few seats short for our group but the manager went out of his way to re-arrange a few things and make it work for us...and he did so with a smile and a great attitude. He made sure to talk to the locals and overall this place just has that really honest, decent feeling you want from a local pub. It's recently been redecorated I believe and it looks really great in there, there is also plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the stunning Parkgate view. This pub is a must on your visit...
