OK so.. I'm sorry guys but I have to give this place a 3 star on my experience today!! We were on table 122 around 3.30pm. Our server was a pleasant young man and welcoming and very attentive too so he gets a five star, although we couldn't give him his tip as he never came back to do the usual "Is your food OK" but he's not to blame for that as he was clearly rushed off his feet!! We didn't leave it on the table incase someone else got it so sadly he missed out on £5!! The building itself is a magnificent piece of old Architecture which unfortunately is being let down quite a lot in my opinion. The only entrance in was through the dark drinkers area where we got stared at like "Beware of the Alimo" out of American Werewolf, that wasn't comfortable so 3 stars for entrance. Toilets, 5 stars exceptionally clean and great going up the grand old now modern staircase looking at the fantastic historical pics they have of Burham on sea!! Cleanliness, unfortunately food and plates on almost every table for way too long and loads of food under our table which was in a lovely area so only 2 stars for this as the cutlery also smelt of old dishwasher suds!! Food.. 3/4 stars a bit hit and miss.. Fish, peas, chicken tikka.. Nice but not as nice as other Wetherspoons .. NAAN bread and poppadoms.. Stale.. Chips really greasy. Pizza.. Excellent. So yeh, I'd definitely return but after improvement which isn't much really just a good clean and a change in the entrance/exit which I understand was designed for Covid however I walked past loads of people which was unnecessary.. Open up another door, have a good clean and put more love into your food!! It's not high season either so no excuses but definitely loved the history on the walls and decor.. 5 stars for that. Shall return on my next visit and hope you've took on board a professional...

Visited with family again, 8 of us in total. Difficult to find somewhere to sit where the tables weren't full of dirty plates or glasses as staff hadn't cleared them. We ordered our food simultaneously and yet again it arrived at different times with items missing like the included side salad. Staff were friendly but lacking in numbers.
Update 14.11.24
We live very close to the Reeds Arms. We visited here today for the first time in a few months and were disappointed. Since our last visit in the Summer, the quality and portion size of meals has deteriorated badly. Our party consisted of 4 and despite ordering together, all our food arrived at different times. It was very gloomy inside as most of the lights were turned off which made it quite unpleasant to eat and chat. The staff were friendly though.
Update 26.05.2022
We now avoid using the Reeds Arms unless absolutely necessary. Many items on the menu aren't available, tables are cluttered with empty glasses & plates which are left uncleared for ages and staffing levels appear low which is probably why the venue appears so messy and staff seem unhappy & overworked.
My husband and I have moved nearby and decided to try here. Reservations aren't necessary and the social distancing protocols in place are excellent. We couldn't get the app to work for some reason to order but a member of staff came to our table within minutes and took it instead. The food was presented well on hot plates and tasted lovely. We had a meal deal with a drink which was good value for money. We'll definitely...
Read moreWhat can you say about a place which has such fast food service that it makes you wonder how they managed to get it cooked in that time.... well the answer is quite possibly that they cooked the burgers in advance and warmed them up as needed. That becomes particularly more likely when you spend the night and the morning afterwards ( edit ... and still not recovered by the following Monday) on the toilet with what appears to be food poisoning!
The servers there were lovely, but the food was frankly rubbish. A gourmet burger was just a couple of dry burgers with some dry bacon in a brioche bun, oh yes with oven chips and some old recycled dip.
They should expect a visit from a health inspector soon and whatever it is they are doing to cut corners, they need to pack it in and do things right.
Friendly staff, Great atmosphere, and a lovely place to sit and chat with friends.... just don't order the food is my advice.
Update on Monday 23rd. A family member pointed out that I really should have spoken to the venue to give them a chance to rectify the problem before giving a poor review. So, being a fair minded chap, I called them on Saturday - the day after my visit. I was told that Nick, the Bar manager would call me back to discuss it when he arrived between 5 and 6pm that evening. Its now Monday night and he never did bother to call.
Says it all I reckon.
So my view remains... don't eat there. The food isn't brilliant anyway and it probably isn't...
