This is an excellent coffee shop. A really great location with an excellent vibe and backed up with the highest quality food and drink.
The coffee (we ordered a cappuccino and an Americano, black) is very good quality and is made and presented exceptionally well. The cappuccino in particular had a thick mallowy type texture to the foam and the flavour of the coffee was rich and robust. You can buy beans on site and I regret not doing this, but it's also a great excuse to go back. We also ordered a raspberry and pistachio cake which similarly impressed. Light and textured, with balanced flavours and very moreish. There were a range of sweet treats available and I doubt there's a bad item on their menu based on the quality of this cake.
The decor and the vibe inside is fun and playful with loyalty to Frome and the surrounding area. It is connected to a delightful little arts centre and there is a smart little shop which has a range of affordable jewellery and other pieces. It is a great little spot and the staff are friendly and welcoming, I cannot fault the presentation of this venue at all it's just a wonderful place to be, from the welcome when you step through the door, the outdoor seating and the playful table identifiers (we had a Wonderwoman duck!) it is just a great spot.

Read moreThis place is busy at all times. Whilst it is busy and chaotic, it is full of locals it is very welcoming. With its shabby chic interior and chalkboard with the menu on, as well as a wide variety of eat in food and takeaway food and local coffee of sale.
The food was unique and put an interesting spin on the traditional breakfasts. It was nice that it included different alternatives which I have not had anywhere else for vegetarians or vegans. The portion sizing was also generous and left me feel full once I was done.
The drinks menu is typical but it was great to be able to able to have a non coffee drink and it was a delicious white hot chocolate, which you can't get everywhere.
The only down side I can see is that there was no obvious allergy listings on the menu, which is greatly needed as many things on the menu included nuts. This made me hesitate as someone with a nut allergy. But all in all, a...
Read moreWe drove past Frome to get back to London. It was breakfast time and we didnt know where to go. We drove past The River House and saw a lot of people inside and outside so we went to check it out after we parked the car. Its a cosy place with seating in the front of the cafe, and in the small terrace at the back. I ordered the French Toast with Crispy Bacon, and Granola with yogurt. I highly recommend the French toast as it was absolutely delicious. They also have an option without bacon but with fruits instead. They have around 2 options for each dish, for example there will always be a vegetarian option or a vegan option. The staff there were super friendly and nice, all of them
Great food, great place, great people. Would love to...
