Was at River View Cafe today, seated at an outside table to enjoy the lovely view and the gorgeous weather. Had lattes, cappuccino, and tea. I asked for extra hot water which was brought without a problem. We enjoyed toasted tea cakes and flapjack. If you like gooey flapjack, try it, very generous portion. I usually have cherry or fruit scones, they are always tasty and fresh. Rarely have lunch here but recently had bubble and squeak, you get so many extra items with it and can buy more as well. It was super tasty, really enjoyed it. You have to leave contact details re covid, hand gel readily available, tables well cleaned between customers, feels very safe. The toilets are in the Parade shopping centre, you just need an entry code to get in which the staff will give you. This is a really super place, especially the young ladies who mainly staff it. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always so cheery and happy to see you. Thanks also to the kitchen staff who do a great job. Give it a try next time you are in town, you...

Lovely setting and staff very nice BUT food portions for the price was disappointing made it feel expensive for what I had. Size of cups isn't good. My husband had a large hot chocolate for £4 it was half full due to squirty cream on top and compared to other cafes the large cup is equal to a small or regular one in other places he finished it in three mouthfuls! I had a tea which was fine in a lovely cast iron tea pot no issue there. However I had a cheese and salad sandwich it came on a side plate with 4 crisps and a tea spoon of coleslaw! I think it was over £7 for this. My sandwich was flat with a handful of salad on a slice of cheese I was astounded. We won't be retuning plenty of better cafes around. Shame really as the girls serving...

The first time we visited the sun was shining and we sat on the terrace enjoying the views of the river and the really delicious food. I had Quiche Lorraine with accompanying salad ( I must mention the especially good carrot chutney) and my husband had Ploughman's with two cheeses, salad and very nice, thick bread. The owner and staff were very helpful and the service was excellent so we vowed to visit again. We have done so on several occasions and had the same excellent service and food. I would recommend seeking out this cafe for good delicious food at reasonable...

After a long walk exploring Shrewsbury, I came across a charming little spot called The River View Café. It offers a beautiful view of the river and has a warm, cozy ambiance that made it a perfect place to relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming as I arrived. I ordered a hot chocolate and a tuna melt panini—both were delicious. I sat outside, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the peaceful riverside view. The café is tucked inside The Parade Shopping Centre, making it a hidden gem worth seeking out. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Came here for the first time and didn't know what to expect but I loved it. We ordered jacket potato, ploughman's board and Mac and cheese. All parties really enjoyed their food and it was good value for money. All staff were very friendly, attentive and always willing to help. They also all wore masks and tables were suitably distanced. There were stunning views of the city and were plenty of tables outside and inside of the cafe. Would thoroughly recommend it and if I lived closer, would come here very often!

Lovely lunch in an amazing location, with fantastic service. What more could you ask for? Despite it being a rainy day we were sat outside covered by a massive umbrella, the menu had a wide variety of options and plenty of choice for our kids. Ordered at the counter and everything brought to your table, fantastic coffee and quick, well presented food. Genuinely couldn't fault anything Loved the view, and on a non rainy day I bet it's even better
