Many have tried and failed but today was the day(again) for me and my compadres. Stuart makes the quiz interesting and loves it when the room is full of hangovers but didn't count on me having a Saturday off it before my Sunday shift. Sober and game face on I was disappointed to lose the general knowledge section by 1 but the 4 pint prize was insignificant compared to the gargantuan cash prize the music quiz was promising. Not the hardest but nerves set in when answers confirmed that not Whitney Houston but her auntie was the answer to a question we were sure we had in the bag. Some lost their heads in the melee that ensued when a tiebreak was announced but at times like these men are men and the rest don't count. Trusted as captain and representative of our team I proudly walked up to the dj and awaited our fate. Was it to be 60's 70"s 80's or oblivion. Hello Hungry like the wolf two tribes,never will I forget those 3 song titles,that charted, IN 1984 YA DANCER YEEHAW. £17 on PYCR tickets and joker tickets that won us zip. What an emotional rollercoaster though. Looking forward...

Great evening of live music in the Shire Horse lounge. A great space with room for pool tables, a stage and plenty of tables and chairs - even a little impromptu dance area at the front of the stage. Atmosphere was great - with all original music from local Corby bands Yodaclub and The Scenesters. I've never seen so many people determined to have a great night - and a great night they had - with singing and dancing and perhaps a drink or two. Fantastic...

The shire horse does a fantastic roast dinner every Sunday 😋 and a gluten-free one for me, which is brilliant. A choice of 4 different meats and several vegetable choices. You can also have roast, mash, and new potatoes . Staff are lovely and helpful. I do recommend booking ahead as they get very busy. You can also order in a takeaway tub, but you have to collect it yourself as they don't deliver. Fantastic staff food...
