We've been going to the Tannery for a few years now and the staff are excellent. They are happy to help and will even bring your drinks over to your table, which is a nice touch. The drinks and the food are great. We went last week for something to eat. We ordered two burgers. One was the tex mex and the other a vegetarian. Wow they were amazing!! I didn't think I would finish the Tex mex topped with big onion rings. It was so good I finished the lot. The wife got her veggie with chunky chips and that was polished off too. The staff checked if everything was okay with the food. Can't fault the quality. Highly recommended. I'm not a one for adding reviews but we've never had a bad meal / drinks here. Well worth a visit!!

Having performed live here three times now with my band Boys of Brass, I can firmly say this is a bar with top potential. It is ultra recently under new ownership so we shall see where it takes itself as a venue. However, my experiences have been positive overall under both regimes. Friendly staff, decent crowds and a good (though somewhat acoustically hard work for horns) room to play. Service under the new hierarchy needs to be better. Not enough grafters, or those there need to up their game, which wasn't optimal for our night. My food was good for sure prior to playing and it landed swiftly enough. I'm keen to see how it develops locally and hopefully it will be well supported by all. Go there.

There is new management since the last time we were in but it has made it a better place, a very friendly happy chap, really patient with two children who were in but a the same time talking to the customers, not on the main street but I think it will become very popular, if you visit Hexham it's worth finding. November 23. First visit since the great plague. Normally just visit for a pint but, this time we had food. Service at the bar and table, perfect. Meal serving size and quality, excellent. Prices, outstanding. Worth a trip out if you don't live in Hexham.

The menu we had for lunch was fairly basic and we went for the burgers. The vegetarian burger was one of the best I've had - grilled peppers and halloumi with the perfect amount of ancillary ingredients, it was really tasty. The side salad was more than just lettuce, coleslaw was good and the chips were good too (just too many of them). The onion rings were super crispy and tasty but too rich and oily to manage all 4. The reason I'd not give 5* for the food was because my husband's cheese and bacon burger was kind of dry and very salty. I tried it and the veggie burger is way better even if you eat meat. The pub interior is quite nice but also a bit tatty around the edges which is a shame as exposed foam on the seats brings the...
