This lovely tucked away cafe adjacent to Hexham Abbey was a lovely, busy peoplealwayscomingin lookingfor tables & clean cafe. Staff were lovely and friendly. The table we sat on wa a large table that multiple people could sit around, it was lovely. I had the coronation chicken sandwich, I'd asked for the chickpea version but hadn't any chickpea left. I shared my Victoria sponge with my partner as was too big on its own and a Cappuccino, which was a decent coffee. My partner had the cheese scone with butter. Cost in total £16 which I think was a good price. Totally recommend. Toilets were clean.

Top class little cafe. We popped in at midday Saturday (prime time) and there was even the odd group waiting for a table to come free. There were no signs of any struggle to keep up with demand though. The hallmark of a great staff team, when service remains good under pressure. Food and drinks were served in a quick turnaround and to a high standard. The staff are to be commended. Always a pleasure to find such a treasure. It's not a cheap place, but there's no problem paying for quality. Tasty sandwiches, decent coffee 👍

Lovely friendly place and cracking food. Busy, but staff friendly and customers chat. Accessibility good, including toilets. Drop in for a drink, cakes, lunch. Suitable for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans. Toilets (through the arch with the stone lintel beam), including toilet for disabled and baby change area

Outstanding geographical location yet the cafe fell short of our expectations following visiting the Abbey. We were seated quickly but not given a menu until some time later after we had decided to order from the specials board instead. After deciding on our order from the full menu, we overhead from another table that they were not serving any sandwiches or hot food.

We took another look at the menu and successfully ordered and paid for 2 scones. Or so we thought. Another 10 minutes pass and our waiter informed us there were no scones, with no option given for a refund. We then looked at the menu again, we could only order cake and drinks. Both of which were subpar at best.

Highly recommend visiting the Abbey, but we will be going elsewhere for...
