Thankfully, I am not from this area, here I will share my traumatic experience with my family at the LOW - rak restaurant.
We were seated upstairs next to a large group by a very energetic waiter who was also serving that large group. At first we appreciated the service until we began to realise he was very manipulative, loud, embarrassing and over the top. I will get into detail why. We waited about 15 mins until he was ready to take our order. Baring in mind, he was the only waiter running around. We ordered 2x chicken platters with the rice. Unfortunately, majority of the chicken/kebab was raw! I took a bite, and had to get it back out again. My sister was sick after the food and threw up. I have provided an image for proof of the raw food. I was surprised myself as I figured there are other reviews with the same complaint about raw food being served here.
As there was 5 of us with such less space, my sister requested the energetic waiter for some extra plates. His response was a game changer and disgustingly shocking. He goes, “why do you need more plates, you have plates already why do you need more”. He was that loud he made everyone look and there was awkward silence. At this point I felt like walking out and this waiter set his standards at the lowest. Every time he approached the table he would make a weird comment saying “my goal is to make you happy, you know”. But instead, he made us all feel uncomfortable.
After we finished with the food (even though we did not finish anything as the food was raw and tasteless) no one approached us for the bill so we head downstairs where we came face to face again with the disrespectful waiter. If only I got his name. There is less space near the counter where you pay and as we was walking he goes “that’s it, you don’t wanna end up in the kitchen”. Who says that to their customers? This place is a joke cos of this waiter and at that moment I had to frown as I was fed up of this man.
I had to run and buy a McFlurry from mc Donald’s to clear my system as I started to get belly aches. This place needs a health visitor to investigate their kitchen and staff. To conclude , viewers please avoid this place at any cost to prevent any health issues such as food poisoning and viruses. This place is not toprak...
Read moreWelcomed and seated. 3 boys on the table next to us were complaining about the wait. Waitress said 5min and he clearly said if it doesnt come we're walking out. Prob 10mins later they walked out. So we asked how long food would be waitress said 15 20min.
We ordered a mix grill for 2, pide and chips. Like usual turkish places we expected bread and sauces to bite on while waiting for food. Waiter did say we give this complimentary. Waiting 15min and no breads come so we asked for it to be told it comes with food. Strange. If I'm going to nibble on bread isn't my food going to go cold?? Anyways we waited about 30min for food which was fine. Food was major disappointment. Chips were hard. Definitely refried. I told the waiter and she says no we don't refry. No offer to bring another portion. At this point I'm a little disappointed already as it's £2.50 for a portion which is less than what you get with a burger. Chicken and meat is rubbery and of poor quality. And the bread was rock solid. Can't even bite into it without some force. Complained about bread no reply. Bill time came we asked to go down and speak to a manager. Waitress was putting us off by saying it was busy and I'll bring the bill up. At the till we complained about it all to find out the bread was finished and this was a frozen one taken out for us coz we asked about it (table next to us never got bread) no apologies and manager is saying it like he did us a favor giving us frozen bread. Chips I could see were left over in the fryer and we're going to be refried for next customer. Chicken skewer was also completely finished so we got the bottom left overs which explained why it was rubbery. Even tacky takeaways don't use the last few bits of it. Told him straight I wasn't going to pay for the chips and he was only getting £15. The nerve of him he printed the full bill and gave us it. Unfortunately we didn't have change otherwise he would never have got his asking price. We also left him £2tip for his...
Read moreFirst of all, that curly haired waitress was beyond rude and acted as if I was speaking a foreign language. My friend and I were visiting we are from Australia and I told her that the restaurant had been recommended by a friend of mine who works at the university and has lived in Luton for a while now- she glared at me like i had murdered her cat. You would think a person would respond in a positive and friendly manner at hearing such news- not miss curls. Second, when we placed our order we ordered far too much food but in our defence, we didn't know the portions would be big as we were used to London style eating. As she was taking our order she raised her eyebrows and just stared at us like we were doing something wrong. Then when my friend asked if she could bring the food like entree first and then the share plates after, she literally glared at him and snatched the menus from his hands. It started the evening off in such an uncomfortable way. Then the food came and our lamb kofte was so undercooked we couldn't eat it. When we tried to ask for it to be cooked just a little bit more she took the plate then never came back. Finally we just got up and said look were just going to go if this is going to take so long (you're cooking already partially cooked lamb why has it taken half an hour?!) Instead of apologising and saying anything she left and came back with the bill and told us to pay downstairs. Unbelievable. Honestly, the service is so horrible that even if the lamb wasnt undercooked I would have still given them this rating. You tend to forgive the undercooked meat when the environment and ambience is warm and inviting and the people make you feel like they want you there and care about your patronage. But I will not be forgetting this experience anytime soon. Avoid. At all costs. And no, the prices dont justify their...
