Where do I start writing a review for the Trawlerman Pub in Cleethorpes
1st of all I called the Restaurant and proceeded through there Automated booking service then shortly after had confirmation to say I had made a booking for 4 people on 23/7/22
We visited the pub/restaurant and was greeted by a Gentleman who told me I hadn’t actually made a booking but could seat us for a meal (strange)
He pointed us to a table stating “That’s a nice table over there” (Table 16). We sat at the table and straight away noticed after leaning on it to read the menu that the table top wasn’t connected to the legs as in you could have lifted it off
After choosing our food myself and my Father went to the bar to order our food and drinks, I ordered all the food and the barman repeated our order back to me, we received our drinks and went back to join my Mum and my wife at the table.
After drinking a short amount of my drink I noticed a full bottom lip imprint of pink lipstick on my glass to which I went straight to the bar and got it changed (The glass obviously hadn’t been boiled or washed properly which I find disgusting in the current Covid situation)
The food took approx 30-40 mins to come to the table brought by a young waitress, straight away I noticed when she placed my Parents food on the table the presentation of the food was horrific and the dishes in which the food was in was chipped all around the edges (Not very hygienic see photos)
The waitress then brought mine and my wife’s food and the Burger she brought me wasn’t the burger I ordered at the bar I politely told the waitress that the burger was wrong to which she replied in an abrupt manner “That’s the burger you’ve ordered” I again told the waitress that the burger she had brought was wrong to which she abruptly replied again “that’s the burger you’ve paid for but I’ll get you a refund if your not happy”
I agreed to this and went to the bar and it was the Gentleman who had taken my order in the first place, the gentleman that repeated my order back to me that was dealing with my refund.
He told me that he could rectify my order to which I refused as the food had already taken a considerable amount of time to be served and I would be eating alone if I waited for the food to be cooked.
He told me I could eat the burger that had been served to me for free to which again I refused as the burger had made its way full circle around the restaurant and the dish it was served in full of chips around the edge was like a breeding ground for all kinds of Germs.
The rest of my family pushed there food around there Chipped dishes and said the fries were cheap overcooked freezer fries, the burgers were over cooked and tasteless.
All in all not a good experience at the Trawlerman, the staff are rude, the glasses and dishes that the food and drinks are served in are dirty and unhygienic, the tables are falling to bits and the decor is tired and in poor state of repair

Read moreWe found the Trawlerman by happy accident, we were actually looking for another pub chain brand that we frequent which has a good carvery offer and opted to try here instead! When we pulled into the (nearly empty) car park at 12:30 on a July Tuesday I popped in to ask if well behaved dogs are allowed in the beer garden to be greeted with a warm smile (thank you Jess!) and to be told well behaved dogs are welcome not just in the beer garden but in the pub itself! My wife and I both ordered a pint of shandy and a medium carvery meal and some water for our Patterdale. The carvery had the option of a small / medium or large plate and the medium plate was £10.99 each. When we went to the carvery the cook swept all the lids off the top of the vegetables available and took our receipts for our meals. We had the choice of roast beef, turkey or gammon, we both requested beef and turkey, the gammon looked absolutely fine as well. The server then politely asked if we would like a Yorkshire pudding and stuffing which he placed on the plates for us with our freshly carved meat. We then had the choice to self serve from peas, carrots, cabbage & leek, cauliflower, mashed potato, roasted potato, sweet potato cubes and unusually for a carvery in my experience, ratatouille. Between us we had everything except the sweet potato! The medium plates were plenty large enough for both of us to add all of the vegetables we could possibly want. We eat out as often as we can and generally seek out a carvery because we appreciate the great value for money they provide. We were all made very welcome by both the staff members we dealt with and would happily return if it were only closer to home, we were on holiday a few miles away when we visited! I wish I had the presence of mind to take a photo of our meals before we devoured them but we were hungry and only thought of it after my wife and I had eaten every morsel and enjoyed everything very much indeed. I have included the photo of the empty plates I posted to my facebook page! LOL! Our total bill was a few pence over £30 which made this meal out cheaper than fish, chips peas and a cup of tea each in our local chip shop! Excellent VFM as far as we are both concerned. Before we left we both used the toilets and these were on the ground floor within a short distance to the bar and spotless. All in all neither of us could fault the venue or the service we received and the only mystery to us was why was it so quiet when we visited? If it were closer to home we wouldn't hesitate to frequent it! Our visit has made us want to see if there are any similar Marsden options available to us closer...
Read moreMy daughter,6year old granddaughter and myself ate here on 4th march, we ordered our meals and we waited 45 minutes on them bearing in mind the restaurant was empty, I had hunters chicken, the chicken was way over cooked and the onion rings were brick hard I said to the waitress and reluctantly she asked do you want fresh onion rings nothing about the chicken and I think they forgot the barbecue sauce as it was so dry, my granddaughter had pasta which came covered in cheese where we specifically asked without cheese as she has an allergy, not a great start, we then ordered deserts which took a further 40 minutes bearing in mind was apple pie fudgecake and ice cream, we complained about the wait and all of a sudden they appeared with desserts, then 5 minutes later they appeared with the same 3 desserts and asked us if we wanted them too, we said no, but my granddaughter said yes as the ice cream was in a big fancy glass, she took 2 spoonfuls and then started choking, she then took something out of her mouth , my daughter checked and it was a sharp piece of plastic she had cut her mouth and was bleeding due to this, we complained once again to the waitress and then she said she would get a manager, he came and asked if she was ok and said that the plastic was from a broken ice cream box, he then said I will give you a refund for your deserts only and that was that, I really don't think this was acceptable considering what had happened to a 6 year old, clearly they were not interested, we have ate here for many years now while we stay at the caravan park, but after this we will not be back, I really think more could have been done on...
