We visited today for my partners birthday for bottomless brunch. As expected for a Saturday, it was very busy in the resteraunt but this didn’t stop the exceptional service from our waitress Lily being 10/10. She was friendly, polite and I never saw her standing around for even a second. Unfortunately, her hard work was taken advantage of by who I can only assume was the manager- A short lady with black curly hair and a black blazer- who became very aggressive and rude with our waitress, clearly overwhelmed by how busy the restaraunt was and not able to correctly manage her staff. She made her physically cry and did not bother to check how she was after, just continued to stand at her screen aggressively tapping away and not actually helping her team serve any customers. We saw her shout at several members of staff whilst we were there, infront of all of the customers. The table next to us noticed the same situation and spoke to the manager who said she was ‘just trying to manage her staff.’ The outburst ruined our experience as how can anybody enjoy their drinks when their waitress is being worked into the ground and reduced to tears by her manager. The lady should be ashamed of herself. Don’t become a manager if you can’t deal with a stressful, busy restaraunt. We will not be returning despite the food being delicious. The drinks were ok.

What a turnaround! After the absolute fiasco at the Quorn Hotel (our original anniversary plan – let’s just say we won’t be rushing back), we decided to try this place instead. And wow, what a glow-up for our evening! Yes, there were a couple of little hiccups with the food at first – but the staff fixed everything so quickly and so cheerfully that we almost wished something else would go wrong, just to see them in action again. Customer service here deserves a standing ovation! The music was a tad on the loud side, but we powered through like two seasoned party veterans. The chicken curry was tasty – even if the chicken clearly came from a very proud thigh and not a breast – and those sweetcorn fritters? Honestly, they could have been the star of the night. Crispy, golden little bites of happiness! All in all, this restaurant turned a shaky start into a great anniversary evening. Not bad for Plan B – might even be Plan A next time. In summary a nice but lively place with decent food and drinks well worth a visit, we look forward to going here again.

Turtle Bay has always been one of my favourite places. I love the food, the atmosphere, the rum. The quality has not diminished and the rum is still brilliant. However this Caribbean themed restaurant seems to be getting less Caribbean themed. The charming one pots that were served in blue and white enameled pots, are now in bowls. The menu has taken a decided turn towards a western market (they no longer have rum cake). The whole experience left me longing for a little more authenticity. Please don't get me wrong, I loved my visit and I will continue to go there whenever I'm back in the country. However it the small changes I saw today don't seem, in my humble opinion, to be changes for the better. I will say that the staff that served us were exceptional, friendly and so efficient. The area she was covering should have been covered by 2 staff minimum, yet the young lady was working was on her own and was still getting the job done. Whilst being a wonderful addition to the whole experience.

We went for a bottomless brunch this evening at 5pm with 8 people and were met with poor service and management. We received 2 rounds of drinks within one hour (which is not an exaggeration unfortunately) and when we talked to a waiter he told us to order “easier” cocktails so that they would be made faster. Since the price has been raised from just over £30 to £40.80 we would expect the same level if not better service as it was when we’ve come previously. We waited to see if the service would improve however it did not, we had to usher waiters over to order our food and more drinks as they would constantly walk past us even when it was clear we had finished all drinks on the table. When we talked to the manager (keiran) and asked for a simple fix of an extra 20-30mins on our 2 hour time he said that was impossible and illegal, and then said all he could do was take £20 off our whole bill which was just about £2 off of everyone’s bottomless. We obviously disputed this as usually you get AT LEAST 5 rounds in an hour, to which he replied saying since the menu change they prioritise spending their time with their tables and mixing drinks which is a joke as it’s still marketed on the menu and website as BOTTOMLESS and UNLIMITED. After we complained to the highest management there (who was named Kieran) one of our guests heard him unprofessionally complaining to the other staff saying “don’t worry they’ll be gone in 20 minutes” as if we’d asked something completely crazy other than better service from them. We all paid £38 each, and when we asked for the managers name we were told to ask him personally, so we went to ask him and he went and hid upstairs until we had to follow him and ask before we left. We are very dissatisfied and disappointed as we have had better bottomless service from places that have charged £25...

I’ve been here before and Allan was always amazing. However this time was terrible. A man called kieran sat us down and left us at the host stand. Btw he’s got a big build, brunette and glasses and wears dark clothing with tramp boots. He ignored us at the host stand, was our original server but ignored us to the point where another server ‘will P’ aka James helped. Tiago was also a major help and tried to make up for his attitude. A bartender behind the bar was also rude and rolled her eyes continuously as we came over. She was brunette and wearing a pony tail. We had to continuously go to the bar as we were ignored while others were served and any time we came to the bar the door the staff (expect tiago and james) gave attitude and hand their hands on their hips. Overall I wouldn’t come back despite allan, james and tiago trying their best. I understand it’s a bank holiday but treating guests like this is unacceptable. We were a table of 3 and given 2 spoons/ napkins and our welcome drink came at 4 despite coming at 3:30. There was also a hair on the plant and the food was put on metal trays, without explanation, which was very confusing and off putting. Btw the picture I’ve attached of the drinks on the table were our drinks that we had to put to the side as no sever came to us for 40 mins and we were purposely Ignored. We went to the bar to check however kieran was sat on his phone and only got up...
