The Wetherspoon is a great option for anyone looking to enjoy an affordable meal and casual drinks in a lively, central location. This spacious, multi-level venue blends typical pub vibes with a unique touch that reflects Leicester’s charm. Here’s what you can expect:

The pub is well-kept and clean, with plenty of seating available across various sections, making it suitable for groups of all sizes or solo visitors. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, often buzzing with a mix of students, locals, and shoppers. It can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, but the staff usually manage the crowds efficiently.

The menu features all the classic Wetherspoon favorites at reasonable prices. The food is generally well-prepared, with satisfying portions, and service times are reasonable despite the pub's busy nature. The range of beers, ales, and spirits is impressive, along with great deals on popular drinks. Their breakfasts are especially favored, offering everything from traditional English breakfasts to lighter options.

The staff are polite and handle the crowds effectively, though it can get packed, which may lead to slight delays. They are typically helpful if you have any questions or dietary requirements.

Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch, meeting friends for drinks, or just winding down after a day in Leicester, the High Cross Wetherspoon provides solid value in a vibrant setting. It’s a straightforward, dependable pub experience that’s worth a visit if you’re...

I’ll give it 3 stars since it’s not that bad a place, cheap drinks so I can’t complain about that. Fairly nice place too, good atmosphere, staff are usually pretty decent. However the two times I’ve gone to eat there haven’t been the best. The first time I went to eat there with some friends, the first time the oinion rings were a bit too raw and the server didn’t give any of us any cutlery, let alone sauces, didn’t ask either, we waited a few minutes thinking maybe they’d come back but they never did so we then had to go to the bar to ask for cutlery. The second time I went which was today, two of us had the buttermilk chicken burger and I had a side of halloumi fries. We both found frozen chips , solid , frozen chips in our meals. My burger was fairly nice, although I’ve noticed they don’t put much salad on them which isn’t that big of a deal in terms of a review. The chicken fillet was really nice though i’ll give them that. My halloumi fries were warm, barely heated and were extremely chewy, which in my experience shouldn’t be the case. This time we did get cutlery though !! We were still not offered any condiments and I’ve noticed they don’t do check backs with any of the customers, again not a big deal but I think check backs show customer care. All in all it’s a decent place but I don’t recommend going there If your main...

Don't ever dear speak with other people at the queue so you will not be allowed inside!!!

I understand that for coronavirus the restaurant needs to limit the quantity of people allowing inside. But this was absurd. By coincidence, we met some people I knew at the entrance and we had an small chat with them less than 5 minutes. Because of that, we weren't allowed neither me and my partner or the other group to get inside. Even tho the other group had started to order some food while waiting.

The security ward was joking when I asked to speak with a manager and I needed to request the manager presence several times before he went to call him, he security ward was almost laughing at the end.

Even when I spoke with the manager and told him that we have nothing to do with the other people, he doesn't allowed us to enter the restaurant.

I've been here and other waterspoons before and never had got a treatement like this one. Horrible. I won't recommend to come here to anyone and I would definitely...

A nice Weatherspoons in a great location.. there are loads of tables and an outdoor area so seating shoupdmjot be an issue. Typical spoons menu. I personally came twice both occasions not particularly busy but I got no service or felt like anyone went out of their way to make my visit great. I am disabled and hand my dog which was no issue as Weatherspoons is equality friendly but no one asked me for water for the dog or if I needed anything extra (I do not need any special treatment but it's nice to ask). Overall I would pick one of the other pubs to meet friends and hang out the only thing this place has going for it currently is the cheap menu and location. Edit A waiter called Tia did get water for the dog 🐕 and was very helpful plus one 🌟🌟

Ordered steak and jacket potato plus a drink included. If you wanted extras like salad, sauce, etc, you would have to pay extra . Steak was okay, nothing special Needed a sauce to go with it or a bit of salads, as it was very bland . But it was cheap and cheerful. Not first choice to go and eat, but if you're on a budget, and you don't mind having pub meals. My granddaughter had the noodle soup She likes the soup, but again, if you wanted chicken or an egg, that would be extra to pay. Otherwise, it was just a veggies options . Overall cheap and cheerful!
