Today I can honestly say was the worst Sunday roast I have ever eaten. The beef was tough and rubbery, the potatoes soggy, the carrots, peas and beans were raw (literally) the only really edible part was the Yorkshire pudding and the cauliflower cheese (what there was of it). I'm not sure what was in the little pot they expected us to pour over our dinner but a. It wouldn't pour and b. It certainly didn't look like something I would want to pour over my food! Sadly as we were being treated by elderly in-laws I certainly didn't want to upset them as it was their treat but they spent their pensions on something that we shall remember but for all the wrong reasons. The food quite frankly was appalling the service was not the greatest and the pub itself really could do with some TLC. The carpet is threadbare which had the mother in law been sat on my side of the table stood every chance of catching her foot in the threads and potentially having a serious accident. Maybe a risk assessment wouldn't go amiss either! **"""""""""" July 16th 2023 Edited: Having emailed as requested with my contact details...... I am still waiting for a response from this establishment. Clearly they say all the right things on a public forum but don't actually act on their words. ??? Clearly customer service is not one of their string...

I have good and bad experiences with The Two Poplars. Quality of food has always been great. My first experience was a large group booking for a classic car club for a midweek lunch. I went into pub, booked the date, arranged to send in a detailed list of members mains choices. On the day none of the staff were expecting us. Chef accommodated us and managed to cook all requested meals except two fish and chip choices. Next large group booking we were able to arrive and each person booked and paid for their meal at the bar. No pre booking but had to pay £20 deposit. Third time I wanted to book for the car club for the 7th September. On the phone Jason said Naomi (manager) would ring on Thursday:Friday) to confirm booking. No call back. Rang Saturday and Jason said she wanted a pre-order. Not sure how was supposed to know this without Naomi calling me. Too late to organise this so had to cancel. There is absolutely no consistency with being able to book parties in. It just depends on who is on their shift at the time and what they feel like. Their booking system is rubbish and I can’t risk using them again. Shame food very reasonable and large side...

Its like a new pub after its refurb and new Management. Such a lovely atmosphere welcoming all. a family with a five week old baby sat on the patio, to your manual workers having a pint and game of darts, A family with plenty of space in the garden for the kids to burn off there last of the days energy to a sweet elderly couple comfortably eating a meal inside. And good riddance to the long gone horrible conservatory. now a lovely covered patio area with heaters and large screen. a very tasteful interior decor with matching flooring and ample of different seating areas. The Staff are superb and cant do enough. Im an expert on all day breakfasts and i have to say this was by far one of the best i've had rating even higher than the proper greasy spoon ive gone to for years. I've actually booked a table for 12 for my Mums 80th Birthday and they want nothing mire than too help make it a special experience. I couldn't recommend The Two Pops enough whether it's for a quick Vino, some grub or to watch a sporting event or to take part in the weekly quiz. Get yourselves down there you're not be...

Went in last night to meet my friend and his dog who I meet up with a few times a year so we wanted to catch up before Christmas. When I arrived the car park was super busy and inside a party was going on and obviously noisy. When we ordered food and sat down we were shouting at one another as the table they reserved us was near the band. Leah came over and we asked if the band was on all night and she said yes and she kindly offered to move us to a table near the front and took our plates etc to the table. She even made sure my friend's dog Buddy had a bowl of water and dog treats and made sure we were comfortable. It was a much nicer atmosphere for us to catch up on as we didn't have to shout and Buddy seemed happier too, even went to sleep. Leah went above and beyond and was friendly and chatty. We did Thank her and told her how good she had been but I wanted to write a review as well so higher management see this. Thank you from Dawn , Dom and Buddy the dog. 🐶

Me and my family went to the pub for my daughters birthday! We couldn’t have experienced a better dinner! Everything was cooked to perfection! And the chef Jake even catered to my daughters difficult dietary needs, without any questions asked! He even brought out a birthday desert for her! And the team sang her happy birthday! We felt very welcome and very good value for money! And a proper homey feel! Definitely will be returning! Jake made us feel very at ease with my daughter’s difficulties, and even came and checked on us multiple times during our meal!

One of the worst Sunday roasts I've had for a long time. No roast turkey or beef left, so had to have a chicken breast. Carrots and cauli were practically raw and inedible and I'm dubious whether there was any cheese in the cauli cheese, complained but they didn't really care. Frozen roast spuds and stuffing, no bacon on pigs in blankets. Then had to have a lengthy argument about the 'free' dessert the Sunday roast is meant to come with, having to ask for the manager before they reluctantly agreed to honour the offer.
