the food here was perfect and delicious. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. I had haddock , chips and mushy peas. This was the best fish and chips I have ever tasted in the UK. The batter was light, not greasy and did not sit heavy on the stomach. All food was served with lemon and we were offered any sauce, we picked tartare.The restaurant served a large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. So it was nice to have a glass of crisp, chilled white wine to go with the delicious fish and chips. The owner was friendly and professional, the prices were vert good in comparison to the high quality food served here. The fish was so fresh and everything was cooked to order. The chips were delicious, again, not greasy and nicely cut . Presentation was brilliant. I have eaten Fish and Chips at Magpie in Whitby and hand on heart the fish and chips served at Valandys in Scunthorpe, of all places, beats Magpie which is rated one of the best in UK if not the best. All I can say is after tasty food at Magpies and Valandys, there is only one clear winner for best fish and chips in UK and that is Valandys. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here taking into account that there are not many good places to eat out in Scunthorpe, this , for me and my family is definitely the best place to eat fish and chips without a shadow of doubt. I and my family will definitely be going back for more. The restaurant has a wide range of meals including home made moussaka, steaks, chicken and delicious salads. They also do themed nights , I recommend everyone reading this review to go check it out. I promise you that you will be just as impressed as I was. Ordered a quarter pounder cheese burger with salad and a side of chips. The burger was average at the best but the chips was delicious. The lady serving was very nice and welcoming. I wanted to pay on card but she said they prefered cash there is a free use cash point literally across from the business. 1st time visit for lunch , was lucky to get a table straight away for our family group , restaurant was quite busy but was greeted with a smile and shown straight to our table . Lots to choose from on the menu for everyone, our meals came quickly , all piping hot and delicious Prices were very affordable and the coffee to finish was superb Highly recommended and most definitely will be visiting again...
