We usually have a good Sunday lunch here and it’s a nice place with indoor and outdoor seating and a good view

But we were most disappointed today

One of our group is vegan and they used to do a good vegan roast

But they’ve stopped it now and there’s only vegetable strudel, vegetarian, not vegan ☹️ The only vegan thing available was Dahl, which he’s not fond of, so he ended up just ordering a bowl of chips

They don’t do as much variety as they used to, and a couple of dishes weren’t available, I think they prefer people to go for their roasts

And the food quality was a bit mixed

The roasts were OK but they brought my cauliflower cheese 10 minutes before my dinner for some reason so it was cold

They used to bring all the vegetables in separate dishes, but now it’s just all put out on the plate and covered in gravy before you get it

One of us ordered the large cod and got served a medium and smaller one instead, but he said it was well cooked

The sauce on the salmon teriyaki was weird and like no teriyaki sauce we’ve tasted before but the vegetable saganaki with Greek salad was excellent

But the worse part was they forgot our vegans’s chips! So we were all eating our dinners and he was sat there with nothing at all, not even chips 😯 And the waitress was a bit short with us when we asked where they were

They brought them eventually and did provide him with a bowl of green veg when I asked

And the people serving were working hard and very pleasant and helpful apart from a bit of grumpiness over the chips

But it put us off and I doubt if we’ll go back anytime soon

If you go on a Sunday you’re better off having the roast dinner and the menu isn’t at all...

What a lovely restaurant! Coming from London, it was actually amazing to have a peaceful dinner at a quiet restaurant and actually be able to hear what my husband is saying. The restaurant is dog friendly as well, which is amazing! The food was delicious! We had 3 starters to share - pan friend King prawns, korean chicken wings and the baby squid. Super tasty! For mains we had the battered cod which was just as delicious as everything else! It's worth noting that there is a standard battered cod and also an extra large option. I can only imagine what the extra large would be if the standard is already huge! Husband had a cider and I had a mojito. Both very happy with our drinks. The service was amazing! Negative experience: waited over one and half hours for our food to arrive! When we arrived we even asked how long the wait for food was going to be and we were told 'just the cooking time', so my partner and I sat down and ordered drinks and food. The drinks arrived and after 30 minutes we finished them and thought we'd order some more when the waiter came with our food. By now other couples who had got there after us were already eating. Some were starting to leave. After an hour we called over another waiter and asked if there was a problem with our food order. He told us he'd find out, but disappeared. Eventually we asked somebody else who told us the person who took our food order forgot to put it through.
