Writing this whilst sitting in the beer garden.
We arrived and went to the bar and asked for menus and the wait on food, I was told 30/40 minutes as they were busy - this is understandable and we were more than happy to wait as it is a lovely day outside. The pub and garden is probably about 5% full and I can count 16 out of 20 empty tables outside - this is not what I class as busy I’m afraid.
We paid for drinks (which coke was not available because they were “too busy to change the syrup”) and took the menus outside to have a look, we decided within a couple of minutes what we were having and my partner went inside to order.
He was then told that they are not going to be serving anymore food because they are too busy and have run out of cutlery... again just like the syrup, too lazy to clean any or do anything that doesn’t benefit them directly I guess.
I would maybe understand if they were heaving and thousands of people were here, but they aren’t.
So now we have wasted money on drinks somewhere because they waited until AFTER we paid for drinks to tell us that we can’t order food - even though before I paid for the drinks food would have been okay.
Disgusting attitude from all staff and they all look like they would rather jump in-front of a bus than serve...
Read moreSorry to say that I'm afraid 😨 that I don't go into the White Swan at Sandhurst through a bad experience. Went to watch ⌚ the Football ⚽ one 1⃣ Saturday night from work. Ordered myself what they. Call a match day Special 🍔 with chips & side salad. (with my 🍴 meal + drink coming to £10, I. thought the price was reasonable). But it was when I was eating my hard earned meal 🍴 that I had to pay for in advance for while watching the football ⚽, a person was reaching over my plate 🍽 with a tattoo on his hand who I didn't know taking my food and eating it. I told the bar staff and they never done anything about it. So that is why I will never go back to the White Swan Pub again. So I'm afraid 😨 that if the bar staff can't back up their punters then I'm, then i`m afraid the White Swan (doesn't deserve any customer's). Also I have heard that there has been recent trouble and fighting at the White Swan as well. 0n various occasions. So by looking at the various comments that I have read about the food & bar service I've read 📖, "I think 🤔 my comments top 🔝 the lot. All I can say is that there are some sick 🤒 people about, who want to do a thing like that. After this episode the bar staff & management need to learn about paying customers plus ➕ go on a " Health and...
Read morePicked up pizza for the fam at nearby takeaway (delicious!) and popped in here for a a quick beer whilst waiting, The White Swan is not my local and this was my first visit. The bar staff were very freindlly and attentive and despite the Covid restictions a swift pint was poured. The landlord on the other hand was possibly the least hospitable person I have ever met, his demeanour was positively oppressive, bizarre and borderline threatening. Having picked up my beer I needed the loo and visited the Gents. Having used the (urinal) facilities I made my way to the garden to enjoy my drink at which point the landlord approached me, He accused me of using the 'ladies loo' and proceeded to warn me that it was not the first time. It was a very peculiar moment! and despite my explaining that I had simply 'done my business' in the usual way (and obviously using the Gents facilities) he would have none of it. It was embarrassing to say the least. I have never in all my life felt so unwelcome nor badly judged. It's a real shame because it's not a bad pub, the decor is OK, the menu looked OK, the staff are good but the whole place was badly let down by the 'unusual' behavior of the landlord. Needless to say I won't be...
