One of our worst experiences in a resturant we had sadly. From start I saw an offer on the menu for a free drink if I download the app and order a main meal which we did. But after waiting 20minutes at the bar to be served I was told I will have a manager come to my table to discuss the free drink. That never happened. So after waiting over 40minutes for our meal whilst trying to entertain a 1 and 2 year old. Finally after I mentioned to a waitress that the manager was ment to come speak to us about it. She said she will go get the manager and instead another waitress told me I have to go to the manager at the bar. So I did and waited another 10minutes in a queue. To then hand over my app showing I downloaded the app and still was told I won't be given a free drink. After spending 30 minutes downloading the app and trying to find this free drink offer which wasn't their. So in the end after another 10 minutes of manager and other staff trying to figure out why I haven't been given a free drink. I was told I still have to pay for it. Despite such poor service throughout. I was lied to and forced to pay for the drink which was ment to be free. Then told despite showing a voucher for 2meals for £9.50 on the app for blue bowl that it isn't for blue bowl. Again either the app or staff are lying. I then had customer be rude to me for taking up so much of the bar staffs time. Definitely won't be returning. I and my family are now exhausted from such a poor experience. We should have been paid to go their and spend our free time downloading their app and trying to configure it and tak with staff most of the time we were their trying to undstand why the offer wasn't going to be excepted. If it was me I would just offer a discount at least for all the faff and effort we had to go through and wait for over 40 mins for food. Wait 15mins to order it. 30mins to wait and speak to staff then to be told no I won't get a free drink. 30mins to download and try find the offer that was promised. I’m not sure where everyone on this planet has been the past 72 hours! It’s been a nightmare to get anywhere in Bristol and this place was open! I was shocked to see it open. But it was also very clear that they were completely understaffed and it was clear that was due to the snow!
There were people shouting at staff! Because of waiting times. And tables not cleared! Get off your ass!! And clear the table or go home! I couldn’t believe it ! One girl looked defeated! I ate here it wasn’t the best but concidering the circumstances it was 5, I drank here, drink is great, there was a que, concidering the circumstances it’s rate the drinks service a 5 I sat in that pub on a table walked trough mats put on the floors to avoid people slipping, wet floor sighs, it didn’t look great, concidering the circumstances it was 5* ! Can you see where I’m coming from here people of BS15! Get off your high and mighty, poor your own drinks. Cook your own food! The blue bowl was outstanding on Saturday! So more so I’m sat in here on table 32 with my husband and 2 children for the 2nd day in a row and guess what. It’s once again very busy. And once again 5* service. The bar was well under staffed, only 2 serving with a queue at 18:3, so we had no choice as the app to order at the table was not working. We eventually got served by Henry who looked very fed up & when we mentioned is the app working, be said no & if it was then they would not be able to serve for it. We got the hint, waited an hour for the food as he explained. The food was ok the Caribbean skewers were dry with no sauce & some veg, it has been cooked away on them but we enjoyed the food overall. We also then noticed the free wine voucher my wife had, was nit deducted from our bill once we paid & sat down. We wanted to get more drinks & the queue was even bigger with one person serving.
