I recently had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday dinner at Yaprak Turkish Restaurant in Woodley, and I must say, the experience far exceeded all our expectations. From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and well cared for, setting the tone for a truly wonderful evening.

The restaurant itself boasts a warm, inviting atmosphere, blending modern elegance with traditional Turkish décor. Every detail, from the intimate lighting to the soothing ambiance, created the perfect setting for a special occasion. We were seated promptly, and the attentive service continued throughout the evening.

But to our amazement, the staff also gathered to sing a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Birthday,” creating a moment that we will cherish for a long time.

Just had the most out of this world experience by a staff named meliza. When asked for take away for left over food ( 2 so I can save on containers ) many small dip sizes containers were brought to us. I suggested it wouldn't fit and yet attempts were made to put in containers. Multiple I told you so moments happened yet she wouldn't give up. Finally she says it's all done when the containers were clearly not sealed and humus and others were oozing out of containers. I then tried to explain why I suggested the containers but she then showered some attitude then brought us the larger container ( after she transferred everything to smaller dip sized contiainers wasting a large chunk of meze.

In the end I decided to let this silly experience go. I then asked for a bag to put all these containers in to which she replied to me " sorry there's no bags" I know she was being difficult so I asked another waiter who immediately gave me a bag. I had no plans to complain of her terrible attitude however when she lied to me about the bag I thought the world should be...

I recently had the opportunity to revisit a restaurant I once praised, now operating independently as Yaprak after its time under the La'de Kitchen chain. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.

The restaurant has seemingly lost its unique identity and cultural charm. the vibrant Turkish decorations and live music that once created a welcoming atmosphere are now absent. The staff, who were previously warm and friendly, appeared short and firm during my visit, which detracted from the overall experience.

Additionally, I noticed a significant reduction in food portions. I ordered a platter for two (for myself), yet left feeling hungry, which is concerning given the higher prices now being charged. It feels as though the restaurant has shifted its focus from honouring its traditional roots to catering to a more commercial approach, prioritising profit over customer satisfaction.
