I had an absolutely awful experience at this restaurant. Despite making a reservation well in advance, we were seated right next to the freezing cold and windy door. When we asked if we could move to a more comfortable table, the waiter told us we could move wherever we see another available table. However, as soon as we tried to move to a different table( 1 hour after we arrived at the location and 45 minutes after we placed our order, not receiving our food yet) we were shouted at and aggressively told to move back or we would be kicked out. Being in shock as we’ve never been in this position before we were just speechless. He shouted again saying I’m cancelling your order go out while pushing our chairs. We got up saying” this is not the way that you should talk this is definitely not necessary.” And just walked out in disbelief and disgust. Not only was the service terrible, but the tables were dirty and sticky. I cannot believe the level of disrespect we were shown at this establishment. I will never be returning and I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs. I also want to mention that neither me or my partner we are not difficult or disrespectful people. We wouldn’t just got up from our table to go to another one if wouldn’t be told from the beginning that we can do this.

Overall, great location but there are a few problems I’d like to point out. The starter was nice (salmon unigiri). Great start. Then, the main courses of ramen arrived. The portion was absolutely unacceptable, as a main, you would expect it to be quite substantial, but it was decorated to make it seem like there was more than there actually was. If you put the noodles to one side it would cover half of the plate. I normally wouldn’t mind if it was a £6/7 average plate but this was £13-15. With the main, of course, we ordered a SIDE of roasted vegetables which came after the main course, when we had almost finished! We then ordered the mango mochi which cost £4.90. There was nothing wrong with the taste but again, the portion size was unbelievably small. I received 2 mochis chopped in half with a strawberry also cut in half. Really? Not even a whole strawberry? There was also a pea sized amount of berry glaze. This wasn’t the worst of this dish, the plate was filthy too, with puddle marks and fingerprints shining in the reflection. The mentioned events throughout the evening this really affected the overall experience and I most definitely will NOT be returning. That being said, if you’re hungry and are in search of meal which will satisfy, don’t even bother visiting.

Used to love this place, but they have gone downhill. Food was fresh, but the quality was not to the high standards I would expect from them. Service was not great. They forgot part of the order, didn’t ask about any dietary requirements, brought the wrong order and then argued back and went only to double check that they did in fact make a mistake. Rolls were poorly rolled, with rice being all over the place. Cocktails menu was creased and looked like it needs to be reprinted, with food stains over it. Was not a good look. They have introduced liquid nitrogen or some sort of special effect, but I found that it was just not done right with the server touching the food to ‘make the effect’ happen. Miso soups arrived luke warm. Disappointing, as I generally love Zumuku brand and some of their other branches are decent. Highest star for atmosphere, as they have a roof terrace, they just need to maybe add some decor. Also we were advised not to sit at certain tables as the sofas were dirty..

Absolutely Wonderful Experience – We’ll Be Back!

We booked for 7pm on Saturday and were a little worried about not getting a good table. But as soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by friendly, smiley staff. To our surprise, we were taken upstairs to the terrace — we hadn’t expected to get an outdoor table, and it was such a treat. The warm evening paired with the soft glow of fairy lights created a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.

Service was spot-on from the beginning. We were served straight away and didn’t have to wait long between our starters and mains. The food? Absolutely divine. We started with some gorgeous beans, and I was impressed that as soon as our side plates got a bit cluttered, they were promptly replaced with fresh ones — very attentive service throughout.

Presentation of the dishes was stunning, and thankfully the taste matched the looks. We couldn’t decide on sushi rolls, so we were advised we could order a few pieces of each to try — brilliant idea! We loved them all, but the Wilmslow Special Roll was definitely my favourite.

Our server, Sandra, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful with recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. She really made our dining experience even better. My son didn’t love the ramen he ordered (he’s a fussy eater!), but we swapped meals and it worked out fine.

Portions were generous, and we couldn’t finish everything — but again, Sandra came through, offering to pack the leftovers without us having to ask. A small gesture, but one that made a big difference in how comfortable and cared for we felt.

A quick heads-up: there’s no parking on-site, but plenty of spaces are available nearby with a short walk.

All in all, a fantastic evening. We’re definitely coming back —...

We have been to this restaurant many times, but generally every few months. This time felt very different to the last time we visited. We went early doors on Friday evening. I went with my two children. One of the main issues was the way we were hounded to buy drinks. When we arrived we asked for iced water, which they were happy to supply. However, at least five times different people were sent to ask what other drinks we wanted to buy, and when I said we were ok with the water provided we were given filthy looks by the staff. We had 3 starters and a plater of 50 pieces. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. Usually the tempura veg and ebi katsu are delicious, but the tempura veg were particularly disappointing. The 50 piece platter came and was disappointing from the last time we came - it felt like they were trying to cut corners. There was much less salmon and tuna and the lovely california rolls were missing. The presentation was just not like normal and instead of being prepared by chefs in view, came from the back of the kitchen. The staff were quite young and stood around looking properly bored or that they simply didn't want to be there. It felt like we were an inconvenience. They then added nearly £8 for service which when I asked for it to be removed because I didn't feel we had received good service at all, we got dirty looks. We wont...

BAD EXPERIENCE When we arrived there seemed to be an element of confusion. Table prebooked but only laid for 4. Bar next to us full of used bottles which stayed a mess all evening . The drinks were very slow in arriving . It was an hour before the starters arrived -these were not served together . The mains took over an hour -3 dishes didn’t arrive at all .We asked several times and were eventually told they hadn’t been made . The food was generally poor . One of the steak dishes was tough and chewy ,the other Ok .The tofu in the curry tasteless and the sauce watery .The rice was well cooked The fried squid was nice . The table was left full of dirty plates and empty bottles all evening . The manager was no where to be seen and the servers left to take the flack. .They were nice but didn’t seem able to sort anything out . We were presented with a full bill (minus the cost of missing food) We found the manger eventually who deducted the cost of the drinks when we explained the issues .60 pounds I would rather she had deducted the cost of the food as the drinks were fine . It was a poor experience and badly dealt with .The missing food could easily have been made as it was sushi . 2 of the party bought a sandwich from Tesco‘s on the way home as they were starving . We had been to this restaurant before and it was good -it’s a shame that it has become...
