Jerk Junction Wilmslow — Restaurant in England

The review I'm writing ✍️ isn't about the food, as my friend and I didn't get to experience it. Based on a recent review by the scouse gourmet, we decided to drive 30 miles from Merseyside to wilmslow to try jerk junction. We both have been to the branch in chorlton in Manchester and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Upon arrival at the wilmslow branch, we arrived about 12,20pm. The place was empty apart from 2 other customers who arrived at the same time as us. We all sat down. The 2 male staff on duty spoke to us briefly, then proceeded to serve and speak the other diners with a baby. Neither waiter approached our table, asking us if we needed anything drinks 🍸 etc although they served drinks to the other people, who was sat opposite us? We sat at our table 10 minutes and were totally ignored by the 2 waiters. The place was empty, so there's no excuse to ignore customers. Shocking service. My friend and I walked 🚶‍♂️ out in disgust. A totally wasted trip to jerk junction. Maybe the locals get treated better than customers outside the area? However, based on the lack of politeness and the lack of service, I'd never visit this eatery again. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jerk Junction, and I cannot recommend it enough! I ordered the loaded fries, and they were nothing short of perfection. From the very first bite, the flavors were an absolute explosion—perfectly seasoned, indulgent, and balanced. The jerk seasoning brought just the right amount of spice and boldness, complemented by the generous toppings that made every bite a delight.

The portion size was satisfying without being overwhelming, and you could tell that the ingredients were fresh and thoughtfully combined. It’s rare to find a dish where every element—texture, flavor, and presentation—is so well-executed, but Jerk Junction absolutely nailed it with their loaded fries.

To top it all off, the atmosphere and service were equally impressive. The staff was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Whether you’re a fan of Caribbean flavors or just looking for a dish that packs a punch, the loaded fries at Jerk Junction are a must-try.

I appreciate the place hasn't been open long, there were definitely teething issues when we visited. Tables are very close together and felt a bit cramped. Staff looked a bit lost serving customers wrong dishes. I understand they had technical issues. We ordered goat curry and mixed Sunday roast, took an absolute age to arrive, we don't mind things taking time but we were at the point of leaving. Food arrived. The goat curry was okay but a small portion. I saw the roast dinner on Instagram and was looking forward, But was missing things that were advertised, no potatoes, tiny pieces of broccoli and carrot. Two pieces of chicken with hardly any meat and it was just warm. By this time we were just grateful we got something to eat. It was tasty enough but if you're going to advertise Sunday dinner with veg then give the customer what is advertised, don't throw on plantain as a substitute.
