I have spent many happy times sitting supping a nice beer here and wish I could give it higher ratings (I used to). To be fair I think the new management team are improving things, but it's now lost the atmosphere it used to have and the food isn't that good. Let alone they don't have much of a range of ales. Overall verdict, I'd go back, but am more likely to look for somewhere else. And finally, because I often do, something that makes me smile. This is not about the place I'm reviewing! There are a few criminals in my town that keep stealing wheels from parked police cars. The cops are working tirelessly to catch the suspects. How I Mark I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more; is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - This was rubbish. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.

I really like the dining room ambiance. It is large enough to be private but small enough to be cosy. The Dark Star bitter was excellent, and a first for both of us. The deep friend brie bites were lovely but the ginger and apricot jam that accompanied them was wonderful. I am a vegetarian. I was pleased to see a very nicely produced menu with a mouthwatering selection. I have never eaten a fish cake that I have enjoyed, but the fish cakes I ate there were sensational and were perfectly wedded to the hollandaise sauce. For pudding I had the banoffee choux bun with was absolutely superb!! I can’t remember when I last enjoyed a pudding as much. In fact the meal, although a casual get together felt very special indeed. My friend also had the brie bites, a chicken curry that I believe was of That origin followed by the Creme Brûlée. His opinion of the meal matched mine. I have a celebration coming soon, I am pretty sure I’ll be booking with you.

We visited this establishment on new years eve 2024. We were visiting the UK and staying at a hotel very close by. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the pub had a warm cosy feel to it. The menu was 3 course and was quite limited for me as a vegiterian. There were actually only 2 dishes I could choose from. Now I'm not going to lie, despite being well presented the food was terrible! All the vegetables had clearly been cooked hours before we arrived and then reheated making then very soggy and unpleasant. The children missed half of there starters and despite ordering a cheese board for desert , they could not provide me with a cheese knifes. Despite the bad food we had a lovely evening and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Great atmosphere, friendly and polite staff.. bad good !

I have been coming here for years and years with my family and friends and always love it. I Made a booking online for 5 adults, 3 children and a baby. I had to pay a £40 deposit upon booking but did not receive any confirmation so I phoned the pub who told me that they would reserve the space. The £40 left my bank account however did not reach there’s and I was told that I’d have to pay in full and resolve the issue with my own bank. I called my provider and they said that M&B pubs would have to reject the payment and it would return to my account within 30 days. I understand mistakes happen but for it not to be their problem it was passed on to me to become my problem and at this time of year nobody wants to be out of pocket by £40 for 30 days when I was only doing what the website required of me to do. I understand that Three Jolly Wheelers is a franchise of M&B pubs and not at fault but I was not even offered complimentary drinks or money off of the bill for my trouble. The staff were ok but one lady in particular was lovely. She was called Ailish and the food was great. The manager did take my number and promised to keep in touch regarding the payment coming back in to my account which was also good service. The service was a little slow, we had to remind them to clear out plates and offer us the desert menu and then chase for the bill and it wasn’t that busy and I may not have noticed this if it were not for the mishap at the beginning. However I did bring my dogs to join me later in the pub area and it is always nice when dogs...

I booked a baby shower with a friend who works at the jolly’s - Owen who has been very kind and helpful in organising this for my sister in laws baby shower. We confirmed everything a week ago with him and as he was on annual leave he had passed on the message with two ladies who were working that shift one being the wife of the owner. When it came to the day we arrived early as instructed to set up balloons and table etc much to the owners surprise. Once we got in to set up the owners wife Karen I think kept asking us questions in regards to the amount of people coming and how much people for the buffet etc and for a person who’s expecting a baby in 5 weeks to stress over these questions was not appreciated. When it came to settling the tab with the discount we were promised, we noticed the price had gone up from our receipt which we were not informed and to much to our disgust had to pay a bill and blamed Owen the person who had organised all of this for us. Owen if expierenced in his line of work and to blame a person in his pressance shows the type of new management they have and wouldn’t blame people for leaving since they’ve arrived. The new management in the jolly’s have no idea what they’re in for and are unable to manage their current bookings let alone their walk in customers. Use to be regular customer. With family and friends who I now will no longer go in. Food brilliant....
