The Major Plaice — Restaurant in Epsom and Ewell

I don’t usually write reviews, but Major Plaice was too good not to. So, I popped in last Friday after hearing some good things, and I gotta say, it lived up to the hype. I had the cod and chips, and honestly, the fish was bang on. Perfectly cooked, lovely white flakes, and the batter was crispy without being greasy.

The chips were proper chippy chips, too. None of those skinny fries, but chunky ones that were fluffy inside and golden outside. I splashed out on some curry sauce as well, and it was decent – not too watery, which is always a bonus.

It was pretty busy when I went, but the staff were still friendly and efficient. You could tell they were working hard. All in all, a solid chippy experience. If you're after a good, honest plate of fish and chips, Major Plaice is well worth a visit. I'll...

The major plaice is a very good fish and chip shop 2 either eat in or take away good food and staff however because of shop's location you have to be very careful of road traffic entering the public footway at a pedestrian traffic light which you have mopeds entering from one side not obeying traffic signals and motor vehicles leaving the footway on the opposite side from a kebab shop the opposite side of the road on the crossing again in a dangerous place & way while you are trying to cross safely but don't worry the local councils know about the problem and allow them to carry on while they sit on their arse at home ...

AVOID! We ordered via just eat. Said it was delivered, but never received the £40 order. We called to see what was going on. The lady was uninterested said to call the driver, but she didn't know who he was. They had no clue where our order was and were really unhelpful. No customer service and no interest except in taking your money. We tried again to call she told us to deal with it ourselves...
