What a hidden gem!
Visited as a group for an early evening meal, as there was an offer on the fork website and thought we would give this place a try!
We all had a mixed variety of starters and mains as a few in our party are vegetarian, there selection of dishes were presented promptly and full of flavour and depth, we had a mixed selection of starters including the chilli paneer, onion bhaji, honey cauliflower and papdi chaat, all of which were really delicious, portions were great.
The sides were really good portion sizes the tarka dhaal was really flavoursome and a great portion, the sundries were also really flavoursome the peshwari naan was really good, alongside the poppadoms and pickles which again were fresh and on point.
Our mains were also very reasonably priced and again portion wise they were great, we also really enjoyed the show of the sizzler plate lamb tawa, which was just perfect, the flavoursome depth of the cumin and garlic base, with a lovely tang from the tomato garam masala base, it was delightful, though you had to eat it fast as it was so hot it did slightly burn the curry as it stayed in the dish, so a heads up.
All in all, a fabulous restaurant, brilliant presentation, our server was a lovely lady who was super polite always checking in, nothing was too much to ask and the rest of the waiting staff were also great, there was a little confusion over the offer we had but they soon double checked and rectified, we were all very impressed by the experience we had and honestly it's a five star experience.
I hope it stays this way and they continue to grow, it's confusing to find the restaurant from the road is it's inside the benny hotel so make sure you don't miss this place, also they have a small amount of parking behind the building which again is worth noting as parking nearby can be a bit of a pain.
Will definitely return in future, a star, or should I say five...
Read moreDecided to edit my review in the hope the owners see this, it's honest feedback. First time I had the special chicken masala, it was perfection. Loads of flavour and a good spicy kick to it. One of the best curries I'd ever tried. Had one last night and it was just not as good. Didn't have the fried garlic bits, hardly any peppers. But the most disappointing thing, zero spice. It went from a good strong madras heat to barely perceptible spice level. As a curry it was fine, but went from 10 out of 10 to 7 out of 10. To keep people coming back you have to maintain the quality/consistency. Judging by Just Eat reviews they're getting busier and I wonder if they'll becomes victims of their own success. Anyway if the owners see this, I hope you take this as constructive, as that's what it is meant to be. Will give them another try, but consistency is key. There's a lot of...
Read moreMe and my Friends fancied a change so decided to try out this new Nepalis/Indian restaurant, and i can promise you it didn't disappoint. Firstly we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes and shown to our seats. The restaurant its self was extremely clean and tidy, you can tell it has been recently refurbished and to a very high standard. The hardest part about being there was deciding what to eat! with so many choices on the menu i wish i had the appetite to try them all!
In the end we decided on getting a selection of food so we could all try - i was so impressed with the standard of food ( which was honestly some of the tastiest, most authentic food i have ever eaten) and the level of customer service provided by Ageno.
Hats off to them and i will 100% be returning. Look forward to my...
