Pretty good, well worth a look We had the butchers sharing board (£15) which was all very tasty, great to share between two as a starter We each had the Bavette (£18) cooked medium rare, my girlfriend had the chips and I had the macaroni and cheese. The chips were nice, the mac and cheese was good but a little cooler than I would have liked and her steak was more on the rare side of medium rare, not wanting to make a fuss she didn’t raise it however. For desert we had the carrot and nut cake (£6.50) which was nice and warm and just what we needed to finish the meal. We were sat on a two person table very close to the cash register and there was a LOT of foot traffic around our table, waiters and waitresses constantly going back and forth which didn’t bother me too much but my Mrs. Would have preferred to be more secluded. It was worth noting the staff were exceptional, very attentive and friendly, we were blown away by all of them (yes - including you, new starter, you hang in there) All in all a very pleasant evening, great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices with room to improve. We will be going back.

was a let down. Expected big things. As we had read some reviews ahead of booking for works meal out. Steaks were not great.!! Costs high compared to quality. Fair options available of steaks but certainly not adequately cooked for any member of our party, We had a fair few of us. Squid not crispy as described bar 3 tiny pieces. This was across the board of those who ordered. The chicken wings were a hit though! Yay! DESSERTS ... HMMM such a limited menu... what happened there? choice of how many? Perhaps this needs a revision. So staff. They were great upon arrival. Great with cutlery sets etc. Ordering drinks/food. Served the starters- check back on starters. all good . Mains came out. Everyone's eating.- no check backs until almost people had cutlery / napkins back on plates and were chatting away. That's a Fail. Then plates cleared asked about the minimal dessert menu order and asked us to move to the bar area as they needed the tables for the group. . I don't think any of group will return for food .

Table of 10 went on a Saturday night, We had to pre order our food and 7 of them had steaks, all of them were over cooked and sides were cold. One person had a pizza, it was burnt and had barely any cheese, another had a salad, the salad actually looked very nice and another had lamb belly, when this was served we all laughed it looked like a mini pork pie, not filling at all. All members of staff were running round the building like there arses were on fire. One was a women, she was pretty much sprinting around and running into people, made me feel very uncomfortable. Not one member of staff asked if we wanted drinks, we had to go to the bar every time. No one asked if our food was ok or if we wanted any sauce etc. Won't be going back, not sure what it is but can't seem to find any good restaurants at the moment.

Used to be Excellent , helpful, patient and knowledgeable staff, excellent food, excellent drinks and atmosphere, but now, Unfortunately, it's gone downhill since then, went on Saturday 27th, had cote de boef and chocolate brownie. The steak was thin, dry and overcooked and I suspect (but can't prove due to the absence of scales), that it was a bit underweight, not a drop of juice in it. My wife and daughters steaks (rump and denver), were good, but that's it. Staff were rushed off their feet, when they asked 'is everything OK? ', before I could say 'no it's terrible ', they'd already walked off. The desert was shocking, completely inedible, the hardest, chewiest, driest brownie I've ever chewed on, with a few bits of tasteless meringue and what tasted like squirty cream. I used to book this place for parties and leave a decent tip, but no tips for the last two trips and in fact the only tip I've got now is.....look elsewhere - shocking.

Decided to give them another chance, took six people with me, ordered a medium rare rump and got a medium well, which was dry and a bit tasteless, if they've changed suppliers or chefs, they need to change back, had starters this time which were OK, the fish could do with being a bit fresher. Every one else enjoyed theirs, so I left a (slightly grudging), tip. Service was not as rushed as last time. But, at these prices they really need to be much better, hence the two stars, I'll be going elsewhere...

I am so so disappointed from our visit to the butchers this weekend. This was our 2nd visit, if I was to rate our first visit it would be 5* across the board.

This visit was absolutely terrible, we booked a table for 5pm and on arrival the restaurant was totally empty. After a few minutes only 3 other tables were seated. They sat us in a line across the back booth, the silence was so uncomfortable and the place was freezing. We had to ask to make orders as the servers were not to standard.

We were told that a number of dishes were not available, and when food arrived there was an error with the side dishes, and when corrected were very late to the table and again not to standard.

The worst part of all of this experience is that my partner was drinking 0% beer topped with lemonade, the 2nd drink arrived and we noticed that it was in fact alcohol after consuming. This was totally inexcusable, and no effort was made to apologise for this error.

1 hour and 10 minutes after sitting down to our table, staff were gathered around the bar waiting to go home with coats and bags on, the lights were flickered on and off to notify closing, and even turned off in the toilets which were being used by some of our party! When we arrived we were not told that they were closing and to be aware of the timings.

For a very very expensive dining experience this level of service is simply...

Honestly was not really impressed at all this visit. Had gone October 2022 and was super impressed so decided to take my boyfriend as a congrats for getting a new job as he loves steak. Our table was not ready when we arrived dead on time, not great but not the end of the world. The starters were bad, no other way about it. Over £10 for the bruschetta which consisted of rock hard bread (honestly I was worried I was going to break something accidentally while exerting so much force to cut through it) 4 cherry tomatoes, a small ball of cheese and a small amount of pickled onion. The mezze was also not amazing. Mains wise they had completely ran out of pizza on a Saturday night? So as a veggie my options were suddenly very limited. I don't understand how you can run out of an entire section of a menu? It seems like extremely poor preparation. Imagine if they ran out of all the steak? I was able to have a gluten free pizza but these bases were clearly premade with toppings from a jar and may as well have gone to a shop and bought a better pizza for half the price. My boyfriend described his steak as 5/10. Also ordered Mac and cheese, this didn't turn up until I chased it. We also love dessert but were so depressed following everything else that we just paid and left. I was so bummed out as this was meant to be a nice treat but everything was so bad it would put me off...
