Traveled quite far to go here. Very disappointed which is a real shame as the concept is a good. We ordered 4 meals only 2 was served. Once we asked for the other 2 they went back to cook them. We then had to return one Burger which was really Raw in the middle but our child ate quite a lot as to young to notice but stopped eating it as it tasted funny to her. I noticed as wanted to try it, it put me and my daughter off completely when we seen how raw it was . 30 mins later one of the missing meals came out. Another really Raw double Burger for my other child, which we instantly returned. 30 mins later the cheese toasty arrived by this time we all felt sick, maybe the thought of our daughter eating a Raw Burger.
The guy who cooked it was really embarrassed, but the annoying part it the lady told him not to worry when he apologised “as it happens to all of us”
We really don’t write reviews unless it’s real bad. We are so disappointed and don’t like to complain or confront issues.
After leaving and the 2 hour drive home I felt like we should not of payed the £60 and is kicking myself the whole drive that we did not complain or refuse to pay. Looking back the whole experience ruined our day.
I felt the there was no sympathy from the lady behind the counter. My child is traumatised and probably won’t eat out again.
We did receive the raw burger for free.
Let hope this is a one off and some training is provided to the chef to prevent this again.
PS, the UNO card pack is mouldy and needs replacing. Also could do with some hand sanitiser...

I was meeting friends in Exeter, and we were not really up for the cinema, tired quickly of the Christmas market, and basically trying to find something to do
We spotted this place online, and were a little trepidous about the experience. We didn't know what the staff would be like, what the selection was going to be like, or what the vibe was gonna be.
What we got was a fantastic set of board games to pick like magpies at, some of the friendliest staff I've seen, and food that puts a lot of Cafes to shame.
At it's heart, this place is going to be best enjoyed by a group of friends who want to do something together, and thanks to knowledgeable, helpful, and personable staff, you'll be able to find the right game for you: if it's the deep strategy of games like Scythe and Terraforming Mars, if it's a party game like Werewolf or Dixit, or if you just want to try some game out because of pretty art (we found Tokaido and loved it), then you'll find what you're looking for.
Grilled Cheese sandwich was terrific too, as...
Read moreMyself and four friends thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Board. Before going, I was not conviced it would be worthwhile, as we have plenty of games between our friendship group.
It costs £5 per person to hire a table at Board for 3 hours. The tables are spacious and have a double layer for keeping cards etc separate from the gaming board.
The Cafe was clean and the staff were very friendly. We played a game of Forbidden Desert and a game of Tokaido, neither of which any of us had played before. The staff taught us to play and got us going.
I think it was actually a great way to get to play games to find out which you might want to buy (which you can purchase at Board). I also think it is a good way for playing with people who might not have met each other before, as it isnt as intimidating as inviting them round to someone else's house to join a game's night.
The food was very nice, and I they are...
