Seen good reviews about this place so thought id take my 3 daughters there for a saturday night dinner. First impressions were its a nice bright clean place. Sat at the table and after a few a few minutes had decided what to drink and eat. We had onion bhagis for starter and some poppadums. These had been just warmed up as still cold in the middle. I didnt make a fuss as the girls were hungry. The poppadums had some chuckney with them which you had to pay for. Other indian restaurants tend to give you these and poppadums for free as part of the meal instead of £1.50 each. The soft drinks were a bit on the small side and out of large 1.5 ltr bottles so slightly flat for the price. A can of soft drink would be better. Although busy it took a while to receive the main course especialky when other ppl who arrived after us ans had starters were receiving their main before us.. the main courses went down very well and tasted good. We decided to skip desert as again took forever to have the plates taken away. 3 of the plates and side plates were taken and one load was left and forgotten about. So i asked for the bill, paid up an left. More staff needed if very busy. In all a nice enough experience but in two minds about a second visit.

We love South Indian food but there aren't that many restaurants of this type around, so delighted to find this place in Exeter. The location is close to the cathedral, about 3 minutes walk away We had a very early table just as they opened, so at first we were the only ones in there. The staff were friendly and chatty and we liked the focus on vegetarian and vegan food. We started with Chilli Paneer and the Thair Vada. We shared these and they complimented reach other well, both delicious. We then shared a masala dosa. The dosa was large and crispy, fantastic. We then shared a butter paneer with a coconut rice and dhal, absolutely fantastic. There's a standard choice of Cobra & Kingfisher lager plus a non-alcoholic Beck's Blue. I think the food would be complimented very well with some beers from the Topsham Brewery on the Quay and having some non-alcoholic Cobra. Thoroughly enjoyed it and have no hesitation in recommending. We thought it was excellent value too with poppadoms, two starters, a dosa, a main, side and rice plus 3 drinks for £50.

Currently the best Indian restaurant I've found in Exeter. Fabulous food with lots of different tastes and flavours away from the usual list of'standards' that most restaurants serve. Booking is essential as the previous time we tried to visit, people were queueing out the door waiting for tables. My starter was the Mushroom Manchurian which was absolutely delicious. In fact 3 of us had different Manchurian starters and they were all equally good, with one of us having the Chicken 65 which almost had an Indochine flavour to it and was also very good. My main was the Chettinadu Chicken Curry which was also just as food as the starter. There was an interesting array of breaks available too which I've never seen before in any other restaurant including Poori and Baturas that puff up when fried and looked amazing. The range of Dosas looked very interesting too so I think I need to revisit again to try these different dishes. Needless to say I shall definitely be returning!

We stopped at Namaste Exeter for a quick refreshment during our long journey with family. While the food quality and taste were good — especially the tea, which was excellent — the overall experience was disappointing due to the poor service and staff attitude.

I ordered tea and snacks, and after we were seated, a staff member asked us to move to a corner because they had a large group coming in and needed our table. This was quite disrespectful, especially since we had already started settling in as a family.

The snacks were served after a long wait, and only when I reminded them about the tea did they realise they had completely missed the order. Instead of apologising, the lady serving us blamed the chef, saying she doesn’t cook the food and didn’t know why there was a delay. In reality, she had forgotten to inform the kitchen. When reminded, only then did they begin preparing the tea.

Overall, we ended up wasting around 45 minutes for a simple tea and snack order. While the tea itself was very good, the experience was overshadowed by poor customer service and unprofessional behaviour.

Namaste Exeter seriously needs to work on staff training and customer handling. I wouldn’t recommend stopping here if you’re looking for quick and respectful service during...

I recently visited Namaste Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. Here’s a breakdown of my observations: Service: • The staff was very slow and inattentive. After serving the food bowls, I had to explicitly ask for plates, which should have been a given. • When I requested some food to be packed, they simply handed me a box and left it at the table instead of offering assistance. • There was even an instance where an elderly customer had to stand up from his table and ask for the bill because the staff took too long. Food Quality: • I ordered veg biryani, which smelled like it had been frozen and stored in the fridge—not fresh at all. • The chicken starter was good, but that’s about the only positive note. • The dosa was decent, but the accompanying sambhar was served cold. I had to request the staff to warm it up, which is unacceptable for such a basic dish. Beverage Options: • The restaurant doesn’t offer any cocktail options, which was quite disappointing for a place like this.

Overall Experience: The restaurant needs significant improvement in terms of customer service and food quality. The inattentiveness of the staff and the food made the experience far...
