Hidden Gem in Exeter
I recently discovered a hidden gem in Exeter that I couldn't wait to share with everyone. It's a place that serves incredibly delicious Hong Kong-style egg waffles, and I must say, they are absolutely amazing, especially the ones with cheese and luncheon meat.
The moment I stepped into the cozy little shop, I was greeted with the delightful aroma of freshly made egg waffles. The friendly staff welcomed me with a smile and guided me through their menu, which showcased a variety of flavors. Being a fan of both cheese and luncheon meat, I decided to give their combination a try.
As I took my first bite, I was immediately blown away by the perfect harmony of flavors. The egg waffle itself was light, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. The cheese was melted to perfection, adding a rich and creamy texture to each bite. The luncheon meat added a savory and slightly sweet element, complementing the cheese beautifully. It was like a heavenly combination of flavors dancing in my mouth.
What impressed me even more was the attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients. Each egg waffle was prepared with care, ensuring that it had the ideal texture and taste. The cheese was of excellent quality, and the luncheon meat was flavorful and tender. It was evident that the people behind this establishment were passionate about creating an authentic and enjoyable experience for their customers.
Apart from the incredible taste, the portion size was generous, making it a satisfying treat. The prices were also reasonable, considering the quality and the overall experience. I left the shop with a contented smile on my face and a desire to return again soon.
If you find yourself in Exeter and have a craving for something unique and delicious, I highly recommend trying these Hong Kong-style egg waffles. The combination of cheese and luncheon meat is an absolute winner and will leave you wanting more. Don't miss out on this hidden gem and the opportunity to indulge in a truly delightful...
ย ย ย Read moreLike many High Streets and shopping centres across the UK, the Guildhall has faced the challenges to retail caused by the aftermath of the pandemic and by shoppers tightening their purse strings in reaction to rising prices and ever growing utility bills costs. The task now is how to coax shoppers back? The Guildhall's main attraction are its long-term residents such as Primark, Wilko's, Sainsbury's, and Superdrug. The expansion of the adjacent Dining section has helped to increase footfall and broaden the Centre's appeal, but it does lack any individual character or soul: you could be in any shopping centre anywhere in the UK. Whilst the ground floor remains overall vibrant, there are a few larger, empty units that have remained vacant for some time. Likewise, the first floor is void of any retail or leisure activity. It would be good to see these spaces used, even temporarily, as pop-up outlets that would help fledgling, independent business establish themselves in a prominent position. The frequent open air food markets surrounding St Pancras' Church are popular and the dining section offers an eclectic mix of food outlets that are popular both during the day and at nighttime. Again, the upper level is a strange no man's land. I do understand the current challenges but I can't help but feel the Guildhall Shopping Centre lacks that all important 'wow' factor that shoppers today seek alongside a good choice of retail outlets in order to encourage them away from the ease of...

However, my disabled friend & I were shocked to find that all of the benches were covered & we had no access. I'm in a wheelchair, so I was ok, but my friend desperately needed to take a few minutes rest before being able to continue, due to health & limited mobility. A cold, wet, stone wall was the only option, which he could not cope with. We only went out for essentials, supporting one another, surely disabled or elderly people should be able to sit & rest for a few minutes, or other vulnerable people? He rarely leaves his home, and now won't be doing so again until common sense is used by those in charge during lockdown. Unless they want even more demand on the ambulance service & Nhs due to such...
