David was an excellent guide. He made Exeter seemed super interesting and if not for him, I don’t think I’d have grown to like the city as much. He was very knowledgeable about all things Exeter and was very passionate about the city. However despite his wealth of knowledge, he didn’t make the tour boring at all and always had a great wit about him. He was very lively and answered every question in detail and with spontaneity. David also provided so many recommendations to all of us and kept us entertained throughout. I could do a 4-5 hour tour with David to be honest - he was that good. We send our well wishes and deep appreciation to David for a wonderful job.

Ps: our tour was scheduled at 10.30 but I had to shift it to 10.45 and some in our party were further held up and only arrived at 11.05-11.10 yet David was especially patient with us and insisted on showing us the whole tour at no extra charge. Wonderful wonderful man.

Thank you David for a great time in Exeter. Will definitely get a tour with you next time I am in Exeter.

I did the 2pm Medieval tour yesterday Friday 11/8. Whilst Helen was an excellent guide, the tour was marred by a young child who was constantly asking stupid questions and, even more annoyingly, telling anecdotes about herself. She was with her grandparents, who didn’t seem to do much to rein her in. Helen did her best to make her wait for a more convenient time to get an answer to her questions, but there were still regular interruptions. I wonder if you have considered doing family and adults only tours, to get round...

Went on the Friday 2pm Introducing Exeter tour with the lovely, humorous and knowledgeable John and had a lovely hour+ walking around the Exeter highlights. John kept us very safe and comfortable during the whole walk and enthralled us with history and pictures of the places we visited. Loved seeing all the pockets of history surrounded by modern Exeter. Highly recommend this free and engaging tour - it goes ahead as long as there are 2 participants and the guides are punctual and...

Excellent tour. We did the Sunday, 11 am tour from the Cathedral for the city wall with our wonderful tour guide named Peter, and the two hours passed in a blink of an eye. It was informative, fun as well as showed us the wonderful views of the current city, at the same time giving us a glimpse of the past. 100% recommend it on a sunny day, with plenty of water and sports shoes. And the volunteer guide was lovely. Go for it!

Fab tour from this lady (didn’t catch her name). Just the right length and distance to walk. Very clear and concise and so much detail. Lots of illustrations to help put info in historical context but her patter was all from memory. Will definitely go on another tour when I get the chance.
