KFC Exeter - South Street — Restaurant in Exeter

I recently had a Chicken Filet Burger meal from KFC, South Street, Exeter, but the chicken was a bit on the dry side. It had clearly been cooked a fair while earlier and kept warm, or possibly just over cooked.

Either way, it was not good and I really didn't enjoy it. At least I had some fries to eat and a drink to wash down the dry chicken. Glad I didn't just go with the Filet burger on it's own otherwise most of it would been thrown away.

They still have problems with the number of staff available, therefore, they don't have their normal full menu, it's quite limited.

Also none of Exeter's KFC outlets close AFETER 11pm, whereas the Sidwell street branch used to stay open 'til 1am on a Friday night and 2am on a Saturday night. This means people can no longer go to a KFC after the pubs have closed, which is what I used to do.

Sidwell Street closes at 11pm 7 days a week. All the others in Exeter close no later than 10pm.

I know KFC aren't alone in have staffing problems, and I understand that some of it is purely down to staff numbers, some of whom can be off work because of a positive COVID-19 test or actually feeling ill from it.

Overall it was a disappointing experience. Staffing problems aside, I DO expect the chicken to be moist and succulent, not dry and unappetising.

Easily the worst KFC experience ever. Been to lots of KFCs in 6 Different countries this one was the worst out of all Specially in UK.

Went to dine in today 30th December 2022 around 3:30 pm . Order was wrong then took another 20 minutes to handover the correct oder.

Chicken was cold not even brown and smelly , brought a full bucket and kept everything on the table and walked away, cuz it was soo stinky and not for human use. Was so brown inside and my friend vomited after coming outside cuz he tried one piece . Asked them for tissue but they didn’t had a single so had to use the blue roll which the staff was using. Couldn’t find a single spoon or a fork to eat the rice cup. Had to go again asking for ketchup and then found out chips were soggy and soo cold.

Whole dining area was so dirty someone swiped the floor and kept all the rubbish under our table. We had to step on all the rubbish.

All this happened when it was not busy at all. Seriously please close this store if you can’t provide good service and specially if you feeding customers this kinda disgusting food.

Oh btw I work in the busiest gas station in Exeter and im gonna tell each and every one of my customers about this KFC so at-least they won’t have...

Should he giving 0 stars! I have worked at kfc I know the things they do behind the scenes, but I thought south st was a good store!! I went in got some original recipe chicken on the bone, it smelled rotten, so i returned it, only when i told the manager (whom apparently has no sense of smell, so he said) about my long history working for kfc he Refunded my meal, however i informed him that he needed to watch what his cooks are doing because this was clearly out of date and re dated chicken and they continued to serve this! As previously stated i have worked for kfc franchise and company stores i have never experienced such bad food hygiene but i know working in a franchise store they re date and over hold food, in a world of covid our food should at least b safe !
