White Horse — Restaurant in Fareham

Happy to see the pub revitalised and have had discussions with the new owners about the progress. However the transfer of the real ale from the covered barrels in the bar to the new cellar we warned would be a problem with the beer being too cold! Our visit today indeed proved our point, the beer was too cold. It should he about 14 degrees it was about ten! Also to impress customers a glowing reception would help. Unfortunately the young person serving us was suffering from a lack of personality, and spent the time between serving vaping! Pubs should not allow this practice as it is highly toxic, worse than cigarette smoke and cannot be appropriate for the attraction...

I haven't eaten at the White Horse (yet). Went there for NYE. A fantastic soul band played and the atmosphere was brilliant. The staff are very friendly, as are the locals. I've been a few times and love the feel of the pub. It's always busy ( but not too packed) and very much a 'locals' pub so plenty of friendly customers. It's how a pub should be. To say there’s been a huge improvement to this pub since Kelly and Darren took over would be an understatement. I’ve lived locally for many years and I’ve seen different owners come and go. I can honestly say it’s such a nice place to hang out now with friends and family. Staff are lovely, dogs are very welcome. Lots going on, quiz nights, karaoke and live music, with new offerings in the pipeline…...
