Restaurant really busy but first course and drink came really quickly, Antonio looked after me very well and I have spaghetti with tomato sauce and it was delicious, he offered the parmisan cheese which finished it off. The speed of his service and asking how I was, was very good in fact amazing. He should be waiter of the week. . The atmosphere is nicely geared to family and couples and also singles out for a Friday night bite to eat. The welcoming atmosphere was great including being shown to my seat. I then after the first course asked Antonio for a desert menu and he got it at once. I then ordered and then within 5 mins or less a lovely sundae was presented. The place is absolutely packed so that was some achievement. I will soon order coffee, and I know it will be brought with the same speed, and courtesy from Antonio. This restaurant is within a complex of eateries, next to an asda up the road, it has outside seating, but tonight I was in the back of the restaurant by the bustling food giving and preparation, but I enjoyed the fact that I sat near this. This was actually my personal choice and it was free, table 20 I think. The restaurant was not hot like some can get neither was it cold. The temperature was just right. The music is in different areas of the restaurant but not mine, but I didn't mind this. So the music wasn't overbearing. In fact it just blends into the background. The sundae which is one of the cheapest deserts has taken ages to get through. I just ordered a decaf americano from Antonio. He is brilliant. The staff work very hard and well together. Specifically on a Friday night. I think I spotted the manager, she is very good at her job of organising and stepping in when she needs to. Today is the 25th of October 2019. I arrived about 6 to 6.30 and its now after quarter past 7. Its been a good meal. I am definitely leaving a well deserved tip to Antonio. He I think is doing a great job. He is very busy, just brought my coffee, he has to wait for the bar to get it but he works hard in between. We'll done Antonio and the other staff. A great evening. As I left the lovely supervisor for the evening Melanie (Michelle?) I think her name was the manager who I mentioned was doing so well earlier said goodbye to me and made me feel...
Read moreI’ve scored 5 for service because we were served by a lovely server with impeccable customer service skills. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Manager who seated us on arrival and this is why my overall review score and score for atmosphere is 1. The Manager was arrogant and without discernment. I was amongst a party of six who dined at the Filton location on 29/12/23. Five persons in the party are elderly - two were using walking sticks. The Manager attempted to seat us at a table in the middle of the restaurant, next to another large party so we would have struggled to hear each other. We asked to be seated in a corner with soft seating for the comfort of some of our party. The Manager became noticeably upset and said that we could sit there but needed to vacate the table by 17:30 because it was reserved (no reserved sign). The restaurant was about 30% occupied and remained that way throughout the time we were there. I noted there was other soft seating and so I couldn’t understand why that particular table we were at had a time limit on it. Once we were seated, she came over and proceeded to tell us that if we ordered from the set menu we couldn’t use discounts or vouchers. I thought that represented as stereotyping and presumptuous. We had no intentions whatsoever of using vouchers. After that she disappeared thankfully and we were served by someone pleasant. The food quality was good, however £8.49 for 5 king prawns (not 8) is extortionate. We finished our meal at 16:40, well before the 17:30 deadline but the negative vibes on arrival left us feeling unwelcome....
Read moreI have been here multiple times this year and that is mostly due to the amazing staff at Filton Bella Italia. We are almost always served by Kai - who, much like the other reviews say - is the most attentive and kind waiting staff I've ever encountered. When we have not had Kai, the other servers have been nothing but nice too, always in good spirits and sometimes even compliment your ordering taste (mine's a Mozzarella Sticks and Spaghetti Bolognese!)
The food is always quick and piping hot, so no waiting around watching your food sit on the side. The mozzarella sticks are always super crispy on the outside with a great cheese pull on the inside, and the serving size is great. The bolognese is tasty, although sometimes varies on amount of sauce (I tend to like more) - doesn't affect the yumminess though! My partner enjoys the Meatball starter which is always a clean plate at the end, and especially enjoys the hot honey drizzle offered on the pizzas.
Fast to be served and orders taken, and whenever I request a straw for my drink these are promptly delivered. The set menu makes a 2 course meal under £20, being able to choose a starter and and a main from a selection.
We have been to multiple Bella Italias in the UK but Filton stays top. Can't wait for...
