Gorgeous meals. Not sure if this is the same restaurant that has received the negative reviews but in our opinion , a lovely experience and i feel compelled to write a review. Although not the cheapest option for a meal out, this was certainly the tastiest we have had for a very very long time. Total cost of £75 ( worth every penny ) but the restaurant accepts tastecard which reduced the bill by £20. I had ( at the waiter's recommendation ) Lamb momo - steamed lamb dumplings with a lovely fragrant curried gravy, not too hot. My partner opted for the King Prawn Puri - prawns in a soft bread structure not hot and with lovely spices. At around £7 each, an extremely good entree . For mains, I had the Everest mix grill - chicken and lamb tikka and kebabs. My partner had fish mix grill - cod, salmon, monkfish and haddock served with a spicy jus. Both mains were substantial and served with nan breads. We were beginning to regret the poppadoms we had earlier eaten as we felt we may have to be wheeled out of the restaurant at some point as we were so full. Along with a bottle of Gurkha beer and two cocktails we felt this was good value for money as we both thought this was the best meal of this type that we had ever eaten The restaurant is on Hythe high street, quite intimate , staff were very approachable and knowledgeable without being intrusive. I do not think the experience could have been...
Read moreVery disappointing unfortunately. We arrived promptly saturday evening for our booked table and were seated very quickly. After sitting down we waited for table service. After about 15 mins a waitress took our drink order and drinks arrived about 10 mins later. So far not great. However the menu looked brilliant so we thought we would wait it out. We placed our order for starters and main. Our starters showed up about 30 mins later. They were lovely but we had been in the restaurant nearly and hour by this point. Another 30 mins later, with alot of people with no food in their tables we had enough of waiting and watching take away orders being ferried past our table, I asked for the bill and the owner came over. I explained that we had been waiting and hour and half for our meal and would like to pay for what we have had and leave. He said dinner would be 5 mins but I insisted I wanted to leave. He did waver the cost of the drinks and starters and wouldn't let me pay. By this time it was gone 10 pm so we just ended up ordering a take away to the hotel we...
Read moreFood here was really good, popadoms and dips were very very enjoyable, nann bread was the best I've had in a while. Not a great amount of spicy food like vindaloo on the menu. Portions were on the small side, espiacally for the price. Just a shame that the company think that it's ok that their eat in menu is double the price of their take away menu. 6 pounds for a veg side dish and 15 pounds for korma, or any curry and a smaller portion of rice than a regular portion ( in the blue bowl on the right) is extremely extortionate, although I had a great meal I will not be returning as i feel ripped off, I have never seen this type of food with such a high price tag. Maybe it is something to do with squeezing as much money as possible out of their customers and the government during the eat out to...
