Florence's — Restaurant in Folkestone and Hythe District

Hard to know what to say about this place because I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's a super good addition to Hythe and a good bakery like this is very much needed. On the other, the seating is not that comfortable with far too many tables jammed in closely together. This makes it difficult to sit and enjoy a morning coffee. I'm not a big fan of the coffee brand here but that's personal taste...it is well prepared nevertheless. Pain au raisin is recommended but pain au chocolate needs more chocolate. We drove to Hythe specifically for a visit to Florence's as I'm a sourdough baker, and I heard good things. I wasn't disappointed. Good selection of fresh bread and pastries, which are lovely quality. Nice location, friendly staff, and clearly popular with the locals of Hythe. What a fantastic little bakery. Top quality drinks, parties cakes and bread. Over the last few weeks we've had Croissants, Cinnamon buns, marmite swirls, brioche donuts and the white bread and it's difficult to choose which was our favourites. I'm worried I'll be here every Saturday now and I'll end up the size of a house
