Henry's Wine Bar & Chocolate Cafe — Restaurant in Folkestone and Hythe District

I visited the cafe when it first opened after the lock down. There was only one couple in there at the time we were served by a young girl., she didn't seem to know where anything was cups cutlery / we ordered tea coffee and cake, she then said they had no trays and could we manage to carry it into the garden. I said no so she found a large plate for everything. We were told we Could sit in their nice garden. We'll every table was covered in seagull poo they were all rickity it was not a pretty garden it was a mess. I thought after three months they would have made an effort. The tea was nice as was the cake but will not go again as it was not very appealing. And also walked passed the other day and a man rushed out of the shop practically begging us to go In and eat they must...

Went along to Henry's yesterday afternoon for lunch with Anna. What a find in Hythe! Lovely garden area at the rear, plenty of room for social distancing and cool and shady. Fríendly, helpful staff, with personal attention from Henry - Chef/Owner. Small but excellent menu, with Bar Snacks, starters, cold dishes and mains. All produce locally sourced with some excellent cured meats and local cheeses.Anna particularly enjoyed the scallops with roe butter. I had seafood 'pie' which was delicious.Rounded off with chócolate pudding (ask Anna) and cheesecake. We had some fine Prosecco and a nice Cab. Sauv. Can’t say enough good things about Paul & Tony in Henry’s. We were looking for a garden area where we could take the dog & felt lucky to have found Henry’s. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel really welcome. The quality of their food, cakes, chocolates & drink were excellent - so much so that we went back the next day with more friends.
