Keppels Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Folkestone and Hythe District

Food was good.................and then we got given our bill ............. we had 1 bill at one price and then given another bill at the bar with a extra 40 quid put on top due to the fact staff didn't know what to do or were mis trained in taking the orders. Was given a free drink for all the aggro but put a dampner on what would have been a lovely family get together. Would eat here again only if they dont go giving me 2 different bills and then expect me to pay the biggest one due to their mistakes ( We did pay the bigger one as my family use it alot and I didn't want to cause any unrest ) . I do hope this does not happen again to anyone else so please double check your bills people before...

Nice bar and lounge, it's been improved over the years and you can lounge about happily. It can be very busy when events are on in the dance room and sometimes closed due to a wedding etc. The restaurant menu is good, food has always been as expected for a province. The toilet is a bit meh, it's clean enough, but not posh in any way. Sometimes you will need to wait at the bar for service.

Keppels is rather special. It is a lounge with sofas and comfortable chairs next to a dining room. In cold weather there is a roaring log fire, and it is dog friendly. There are no pinball or similar machines and the clientele are mostly middle age to elderly. They sometimes have a live pianist playing quietly so it doesn't interfere with conversation. The food is Ok rather than spectacular and service is rather slow, but always...
