1st time eating here, and I should have read the review from the owner, what a plonker I am walking up and down the road a few times until I phoned up felt a fool , inside the scuba the man said and down stairs err . Anyway the starters were to die for , the home cooked Sunday roast beef dinner was probably one of the best I've eaten in a very long time the restaurant was full and I am one of those with very good hearing and all I could hear was how amazing the food was from every table, the chef definitely knows how to cook and his presentation of his food on the plate made you just want to eat the whole lot, I highly recommend eating here and I will definitely be eating during the week as well as Sundays

Really delicious food - the produce sings here and you can taste the quality. The menu says small plates but they are very generous, we had six dishes between two and couldn't finish! Stand out dishes were the venison, skate wing and scallops. Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend.

Had three course Sunday dinner menu. The main dinners we had were inedible, really disappointed. Had previously been and food was lovely , so when I recommended to family I was embarrassed by what we was served. Dry , pink chicken, the beef was so raw it was mooing, I wasn't going to say anything , but when I had a pudding it really was the last straw. Frozen mixed fruit , plonked in a bowl and I have no idea what the topping was that apparently was supposed to be crumble. I spoke to waiter to say was unhappy with the food. He was very hostile and belittled me. Was very awkward and embarrassing. But he took some money off the bill which I had asked for. The next day I saw him in cafe at The sunshine bistro in the high street , and he verbally attacked me shouting in there as he was leaving. Was really rude and embarrassing, causing a scene, he said are you going to complain in here aswell at the top of his voice , very...

Now here's a " hidden jem", access is through the lively Skuba bar and downstairs to a totally different experience. Small and intimate, not been running for long in it's current form but well worth a visit. Every dish was delicious and the "sharing plate" menu means that you can try a variety of different items without running up a huge bill. The service was lovely and we had one of the best tasting meals we've had in...
