This was my first experience of Five Guys. We called by as a party of four on Sun 22/10. My son used to have a job at one of their franchises after leaving school, so he was well familiar with their ordering system, which (to those not in the know) is somewhat different to Burger King or McDonald's. We all selected burgers and our choice of toppings, which is quite varied. As I am a Five Guys virgin I was keen to compare to BK, as BK has always been my preferred burger outlet. And I can say, I was not disappointed. This is obviously my opinion, but I reckoned that my choice was certainly on a par as far as any Whopper is concerned. I believe FG is considered far more expensive, but cost is also reliant on how many toppings etc. etc. you choose to add. I must learn for next time how to use the drink dispensing machine. My family almost died laughing as I returned to the table after my first attempt to refill my coke cup, only to present them with a cup full to the brim with nothing but ice. What a jerk! At 62, I think I best leave technology to the kids. Anyway I'd give the...
Read moreVery poor service just lots of staff shouting at customers but they think putting thank you at end makes up for it. It's lazy cooking- the fried bacon is just that dropped in a frier basket and deep fried to its tasteless brittle pieces of something that used to be known as bacon, then it's just sat in the basket on the counter top not appealing. Bacon grilled or fried on the burger grill would allow for a more flavourful end product. Fries did even taste salted but again nothing special I actually struggled to make any difference between theirs and frozen chips. Now the burger what a waste of money that was toppings nothing special no wonder the are free. The are so tight on the sauce they put on them the whole burger has no flavour, burgers where just as dry as a McDonald's one. Big whoop you get free refills on the postmix which will cost about 5p per large.
All in all I wouldn't waste your money it's a franchise with nothing that makes them stand out. Go McDonald's you won't feel...
Read moreI will start my review with a huge shout out to all the staff, I visited today this being Sunday the 18th of June 23, this was my second time.
The customer service was above and beyond, friendly, attention to detail, professional, likeable and polite, so to summarise outstanding and your all a credit to the facility.
The order was assisted by the lady on the cashier, my order was taken prepped and called in a timely fashion considering everything is fresh and made to order, whilst prepping my order you have full visibility and can't fault the hygiene.
So after a short wait my order was ready, it did not disappoint at all, full of taste plentiful in a very well kept clean environment.
So yes it's not cheap however you are getting what you pay for, so for the customer service, quality of the food and amount it's worth the money paid.
Well done 5 Guys York outlet you have got this spot on and once again a huge shout out to the staff that was on...
