Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Fulford

I’m currently at Slim Chickens in the Designer Outlet and I have to give a massive shoutout to Josh — an absolute LEGEND.

The place was heaving, with the queue spilling right out of the shop, which can be really overwhelming for my partner who lives with constant anxiety. Josh had no idea about this, but his calm, patient and friendly manner made all the difference. Even when it was hard to hear over the noise, he never rushed us, never got frustrated — just kept smiling and guiding us through the order like a total pro. His kindness and composure spoke volumes about the level of care this place has for its customers.

We ordered the Slims Salad and chicken wings — and the food was super fresh and full of flavour. Massive bonus points for the free refills on both coffee and fizzy drinks too. Absolute win!

What really stood out was that Josh even came over afterwards to check everything was okay with our meal. You don’t get that kind of thoughtfulness everywhere — especially in a busy fast-paced spot like this.

Amazing Chicken & Great Vibe!

Had an awesome experience at Slim Chickens in York! I popped in with a couple of friends for a quick bite, and honestly, we were blown away.

First off, the chicken tenders were next-level—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavour. I got the Slim’s Meal with fries and Texas toast, and it hit the spot. The best part? The sauces! There are so many to choose from, but the Slim Sauce and Honey BBQ were my favorites. My friend tried the Buffalo wrap, and they said it was one of the best they've had.

The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in. Even though it was busy, the food came out pretty quickly, and everything was fresh. The place has a great vibe—nice and relaxed but still fun, perfect for chilling with friends or grabbing a quick meal.

We tried Slim Chickens after hearing about it a few weeks ago. We were not disappointed. The food is not only generously portioned, but absolutely delicious too. My stepdaughter is usually embarrassed about taking leftovers home, but she was the one instigating it here by wrapping her chicken up in the greaseproof paper it came in. The restaurant is also very clean and pleasantly designed and the staff could not be more polite and helpful. I cannot think of a single negative aspect other than it would be nice for vegetarian products to have a "v" next to them to help show which products are truly vegetarian outside of the vegan tenders.
