Title: Disappointing Experience at Chiquito
I recently visited Chiquito and had an incredibly disappointing experience, marred by poor service from both the manager and the servers. Upon our arrival, we kindly requested a table change, but the manager's body language and facial expressions clearly showed opposition to this simple request. It was an uncomfortable and unwelcoming start to our evening.
From the moment we sat down, we were neglected. No servers came to take our order, and despite numerous attempts to get their attention, we were continuously ignored. It was baffling to see servers either standing around or attending to other tables, yet none bothered to approach us.
One server finally came over but only to tell us that our friend had already asked for service, which was incorrect. When he asked if our drink orders had been taken and we replied "no," he seemed disinterested and walked away. This added to our frustration as it was evident that there were plenty of free servers who could have easily taken our order.
When I requested to speak to the manager, she offered to take our order instead. However, the damage was already done. Her intervention came too late, and her initial attitude had already set a negative tone for our evening.
Overall, the experience at Chiquito was disappointing and ruined our evening. The staff, from the manager to the servers, demonstrated a lack of friendliness and professionalism. I sincerely hope that the staff undergoes training in customer service to ensure that future patrons do not endure the same...
Read moreMe and my wife visited Chiquito yesterday around 6pm where we were greeted within a few minutes and shown a table. We started off our dining experience with two large soft drinks (2 Coke Zeros), which took around 10 minutes to come. This was the start of, unfortunately, what would be the slow service. It took around another 10-15 minutes at least for the server to come and ask for our order which we ordered nachos for a starter, with two main orders which we got a burrito each with a side of loaded chips and a portion of onion rings to share.
Unfortunately, it must’ve taken at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive, and the burritos themselves were not bad at all, which were actually quite tasty but the onion rings were definitely the ones you can buy from the supermarket and the loaded chips were definitely not worth the price. The manager did apologize for the wait, which is appreciated and showed that they at least cared but with the restaurant not being that busy, with maybe roughly 30 people maximum, the service was a bit of a let down.
The entire meal came up to around £60, but thankfully, with my Cineworld Unlimited Card, I got 50% off the total bill which overall isn’t too bad but unfortunately, with the quality of the meal I probably wouldn’t return and can’t recommend...
Read moreI visited Chiquito with two friends and we were greeted by a waitress named Melissa. She started to take our order and then recognised me from a previous visit months ago. Not only that, but she remembered what I ordered and also what my friend had.
We were very impressed by this especially as my own memory is dreadful. She took our order and shortly our drinks arrived, as did the starter - a sharing board between the three of us. One of us was a vegetarian (we knew this prior to ordering) and when it arrived we asked Melissa if a particular food was vegetarian. She then checked, and confirmed that it isn't, but the chefs would make him up a vegetarian version. Fantastic service going above and beyond.
The mains then arrived, we all got different options including ribs/chicken, a burger and my other friend got three small dishes. We were all impressed by the quality and taste of the food.
The restaurant was fairly busy (I'd say about 75% full) but the service was great, and speedy. Melissa apologised to us on a few occasions about the wait but we didn't feel we were waiting a while. I would say that this was one of the best experiences of customer service I have received in a restaurant and my friends...
